Tobacco planting industry is an important component of China's agricultural industry and has a close relationship with the development of the national economy,especially the agricultural economy.With the development of the tobacco industry,mechanized operation is the ways of developing efficient and investment-reducing agriculture.In recent years,China has developed a large number of tobacco field management machinery,but it is still at a relatively low level.Most of the mechanical operations have a single function,poor reliability,and low efficiency.At present,majority of tobacco fields use artificial topping,which has low efficiency,high production costs,and cumbersome operations.Besides,the tobacco plants after topping need to be sprayed with suckercides,and artificial operation is not only inefficient but also prone to drug poisoning.Therefore,it is an inevitable choice for tobacco production to use automatic and intellectualized comprehensive machinery instead of artificial operation.In order to solve the problems caused by the fixed-height topping machine,an intelligent topping machine with clamping belt was designed,it can complete the positioning,gathering,clamping,cutting,cutter disinfection,spray suckercides,tobacco flower conveying and collection.The research work was mainly carried out as follows.(1)Study on the mechanical characteristics of tobacco stalk during topping period.The relationship between the tobacco stalk diameter and the maximum cutting force was determined by cutting test of tobacco stalk,and the cutting force was calculated.According to the relationship between the test force and the displacement of the bending test,the bending and shearing modulus of tobacco stalk is calculated.The study of the mechanical characteristics of tobacco stalk can provide reference for the design of the toping machine.It is beneficial to determine the working condition of the machine and the comprehensive utilization of the tobacco stalk.(2)The overall structure design and component selection of the topping machine.Based on the research status of domestic and international tobacco topping machines,combined with the agronomic requirements and production status of tobacco topping,the structure and power system of the complete machine have been determined.The topping machine uses a high-gap universal chassis and battery as a power source,focusing on the design and component selection of tobacco height detection system,clamp-type topping mechanism,lifting mechanism,knife disinfection and suppression of bud spraying system,fireworks delivery collection device,etc.(3)Finite element analysis and kinematics simulation of key parts of topping machine.Using ANSYS Workbench,the finite element strengths of the lifting mechanism sprocket,clamping topping mechanism and lifting platform frame were checked.The results show that the displacement deformation of each component is small and the maximum stress is less than the yield strength of the material,which can meet the design requirements.The kinematics simulation of the knives was performed using ADAMS.The variation of the displacement and velocity of the cutting point on the cutting knife with time was analyzed.The simulation results showed that when the cutting speed was 1000 r/min,the cutting requirements were satisfied.(4)Prototype trials and field tests.Based on the theoretical analysis and simulation,the three-dimensional and two-dimensional drawings of the prototype were completed,and the prototype trial production and field test were performed.The test show that the machine can meet the precise topping of tobacco,the topping rate is more than 95%,the damage rate of tobacco leaves is less than 5%,and the quantitative spraying of suckercides can be completed,and achieve accurate and intelligent tobacco topping.
