Clinical Trials Of Danlianhua Uterine Perfusate Treated On Cow Endometritis

Endometritis,a disease mainly caused by pathogenic microorganism infection,result in serious detrimental to growth and reproduction of dairy cow.It is primary treated by antibiotics,which may cause pathogen resistant to drug and drug residual in milk by long-term administration.Traditional Chinese medicine produced from nature contains a variety of compositions,which make it hard to induce drug-resistance of pathogen and drug residual.As a result,traditional Chinese medicines get a lot of attentions.Preliminary studies demonstrated Danlianhua uterine perfusate,composed by Carthami Flos,Salviae Miltiorrhizae Radix et Rhizoma,Coptidis Rhizoma and Forsythia Fructus,have significant effect in anti-bacteria and anti-inflammation.The present study followed the guiding principle of veterinary traditional Chinese medicine and nature product clinical trial technics,performed the experimental clinical trial and expanded clinical trial to confirm the effect of Danlianhua uterine perfusate on dairy cow endometritis.The following results were obtained:(1)Experimental clinical trial of Danlianhua uterine perfusate on dairy cow endometritis:50 naturally infected dairy cows were divided into 5 groups,10 for every group.The 5 groups were Danlianhua uterine perfusate high,medium,low dosage group(uterine perfusion;50mL,100 m L,150 mL once;once every other day,continue for 3 times),positive drug group and disease control group,respectively.In addition,10 more healthy cows were used as healthy control.The results revealed that by treatment of Danlianhua uterine perfusate,the clinical symptoms were ameliorated a lot,and the cornua uteri of cows in high and medium dosage group were completely cured,cervical mucus became clear,leukocyte counts decreased,pH6.5~7.0,indican became negative,60% were cured and 90% were effective,respectively.The cure rate and effective rate were significantly higher than that of positive drug group(P<0.05).These results demonstrated Danlianhua uterine perfusate have significant therapeutic effect on dairy cow endometritis.The clinical dosage was suggested to be 100mL/cow,uterine perfusion,once every other day,continue for 3 times.The three dosage of Danlianhua uterine perfusate all caused the significant decrease in leukocyte counts,in which high and medium dosage groups were significant difference with disease control group and positive drug control group(P<0.05),medium dosage group issignificantly lower than that of low dosage group(P<0.05).Neutrophilic granulocyte counts in high and medium dosage groups were significantly lower than that of disease group(P<0.05).The above results demonstrated Danlianhua uterine perfusate can retard inflammation response,and high and medium dosage groups are more effective.By treatment of different dosage of Danlianhua uterine perfusate treatment,blood biochemical indexes such as AST,ALT,ALP,TP,Alb and Glb have no significant difference with disease control and health control groups.And the indexes in different dosage groups were out of significant difference(P > 0.05).This demonstrated that Danlianhua uterine perfusate have no influence in dairy cow blood biochemical indexes.(2)Expanded clinical trial of Danlianhua uterine perfusate on dairy cow endometritis: 40 naturally infected dairy cows were divided into 2groups,20 for each group.The two groups were Danlianhua uterine perfusate group(uterine perfusion,once every other day,100 mL once,continue for 3 times)and positive drug group(terramycin uterine perfusion).Results indicated by treatment of Danlianhua uterine perfusate,the clinical symptoms of infected dairy cows were significantly ameliorated,the cure rate is 55%,effective rate is 90%,no abnormal performance was observed.The above results indicated Danlianhua uterine perfusate can treat clinical endometritis effectively and safely.
