Objective:This study aims to compare the differences of the clinical and pathological data between Invasive Micropapillary Carcinoma(IMPC) and Invasive Ductal Carcinoma(IDC), and explore the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical characteristics, molecular subtypes and survival condition of Invasive Micropapillary Carcinoma of the breast. Methods:40 IMPC and 80 IDC cases were collected from July 2008 to July 2013 in Tumour Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University. Their clinical and pathological data were retrospectively analyzed and the expressions of ER?PR?HER-2 and Ki67 was detected by immunohistochemical method. Finally, clinicopathological data and follow-up materials were analyzed and studied. Results:IMPC significantly differed from the IDC patients in terms of fertility status, history of benign breast, lymph node metastasis, lymphatic invasion, extranodal extention, mammilla invasion and ER expression(P< 0.05). Meanwhile no statistically significant found in the differential expression of nationality, menopausal status, tumor family, clinical presentation, tumor size, histological grade, PR, HER-2, Ki67 and molecular typing(P>0.05). After median follow-up of 24 months for IMPC and 30 months for IDC, local recurrence, distant metastasis,2 years disease-free survival and overall survival were not statistically different from eachother (P>0.05). Conclusion:IMPC is a special type of the breast cancer which has a high rate of lymph node metastasis, tendency of invasion, More likely to occur in the women who have the history of benign breast disease and infertility.
