Subject:Surgery | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | Objective: To discuss the relationship between the expression of MCM2(Minichromosome maintenance proteins 2)and E2F3 in meningioma and the clinical and pathological characteristics of meningioma through detecting the expression of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma tissues and normal meningeal tissues.Method: 69 cases of meningioma specimens derived from operation resection and diagnosed by pathology in the Department of Neurosurgery of Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University from 2013 to 2015 and 19 cases of normal meningeal tissues collected from patients with cerebral trauma by internal and external decompression in 2015 were collected.Immunohistochemical streptomyces avidin-streptavidin-perosidase(SP)was applied to detect the expression of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma tissues and normal meningeal tissues and to analyze the relationship between the expression of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma and the clinical and pathological characteristics of meningioma.Results:1)MCM2 expression intensity in meningioma was significantly higher than that in the normal meningeal tissues(P<0.05).2)The differences among the MCM2 expression intensity in GradeⅠ,Ⅱand Ⅲ meningioma had statistical significance(P<0.05);The correlation between the MCM2 expression in meningioma and the pathological grading of meningioma was positive(rs=0.490,P<0.05);MCM2 expression in Grade Ⅱmeningioma was higher than that of Grade Ⅰmeningioma(P<0.05);MCM2 expression in Grade meningioma was higher Ⅲ than that of Grade Ⅰmeningioma(P<0.05);The difference of MCM2 expression between Grade Ⅱand Ⅲ meningioma didn’t have statistical significance(P>0.05).3)The differences among the expression of MCM2 in negative, mild, moderate and severe peritumoral edema meningioma had statistic significance(P<0.05);The correlation between the MCM2 expression in meningioma and the degree of peritumoral edema was positive(rs=0.642,P<0.05);In addition to the difference of MCM2 expression between moderate edema meningioma and severe edema meningioma was not statistically significant(P>0.05),the more peritumoral edema degree the higher MCM2 expression intensity was(P<0.05).4)The difference of MCM2 expression in meningioma between different genders was not statistically significant(P>0.05).5)69 cases of meningioma were divided into two groups with 40 years old as the boundary. The difference of MCM2 expression between ≥40 years group and <40 years group was not statistically significant(P>0.05).6)No significant difference was existed between the MCM2 expression of non-skull base meningioma tissues and skull base meningioma tissues(P>0.05);7)No significant difference existed in the MCM2 expression of the different sizes of meningioma(P>0.05);8)The difference of E2F3 expression intensity between meningioma and normal meningeal tissues was statistically significant(P<0.05).9)There were significant differences among the expression of E2F3 in Grade Ⅰ,Ⅱand Ⅲ meningioma(P<0.05);The correlation between the E2F3 expression in meningioma and the pathological grading of meningioma was positive(rs=0.436,P<0.05);E2F3 expression in Grade meⅡ ningioma was higher than that of Grade Ⅰmeningioma(P<0.05);E2F3 expression in Grade Ⅲ meningioma was higher than that of Grade Ⅰmeningioma(P<0.05);E2F3 expression in Grade Ⅲ meningioma was higher than that of Grade Ⅱ meningioma(P<0.05).10)There were significant differences among the expression of E2F3 in negative, mild, moderate and severe peritumoral edema meningioma(P<0.05);The correlation between the E2F3 expression in meningioma and the degree of peritumoral edema was positive(rs=0.607,P<0.05);The more peritumoral edema degree the higher E2F3 expression intensity was(P< 0.05),however,the difference of E2F3 expression between moderate edema meningioma and severe edema meningioma was not statistically significant(P>0.05).11)The difference of E2F3 expression in meningioma between different genders didn’t have statistical significance(P>0.05);12)The difference of E2F3 expression in meningioma between ≥40 years group and <40 years group didn’t have statistical significance(P>0.05).13)No significant difference was found between the E2F3 expression of non-skull base meningioma tissues and skull base meningioma tissues(P>0.05).14)No significant difference existed in the E2F3 expression of the different sizes of meningioma(P>0.05).15)The correlation between the expression intensity of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma was positive(rs=0.619,P<0.05).Conclusion:1)The expression intensity of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma tissues is significantly higher than that of normal meningeal tissues.Their abnormal expression may promote the development of meningioma.2)The expression of MCM2 and E2F3 is positively correlated to pathological grading of meningioma, indicating that their high expression is associated with the malignant proliferation of meningioma cells and may be used as an evaluation index of malignant proliferation of meningioma.3)The expression intensity of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma is positively correlated to the degree of meningioma peritumoral edema, indicating that high expression of MCM2 and E2F3 is associated with the formation of meningioma peritumoral edema, whose mechanism needs further research.4)The expression intensity of MCM2 and E2F3 in meningioma was not correlated with gender, age, meningioma site and size.5)The expression intensity of MCM2 in meningioma is positively correlated to that of E2F3.Both of them may have synergistic effect on regulating abnormal proliferation of meningioma cells. | | Keywords/Search Tags: |
