Objective:To study the distribution of sex,eye sex,age and the fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA)image features of patients with retinal vein occlusion(RVO);To evaluate the differences of horizontal optic disc diameter and cup/disc ratio between eyes with retinal vein occlusion and normal eyes. Methods:We summarized and analyzed the clinical data of outpatients retrospectively.Tthe outpatients were from February 2012 to June 2012 in Tianjin Eye Hospital who were diagnosed with RVO by FFA and fundus examination. The gender, eye sex, age, and the other relevant information were collected from the patient's medical records. The type and site of the RVO were got from the patients' FFA information, and The retinal neovascularization(RNV)and macular edema(ME)number of cases and situation were obtained from the patients' infrared photograph. The cup/disc ratios were obtained by measuring the vertical cup/disc diameter with HRT software from IR30°images.Results:1 In total 385 cases(392 eyes)RVO,351 cases(356 eyes)complicated no other general disease,19 cases(20 eyes)complicated diabetes mellitus, and 15 cases(16 eyes)complicated hypertension;seven cases' two eyes were involved;192 cases were male, and 193 cases were female;left eyes were 194,and right eyes were 198.2 In total 385 cases RVO,Patients mean age was 58.30 ? 11.51 years old;The 40-year-old to 59-year-old age grade had a significient high incidence; The cases in this age grade accounted for 47.53%.In RVO 351 cases complicated no other general disease, patients mean age was of 57,78 ± 11.24 years old;The 40 years old to 59 years old age grade also had a significient high incidence; The cases in this age grade accounted for 50.14%.3 In RVO 351(356 eyes)cases complicated no other general disease, major branch retinal vein occlusion eye was 201;The most common site of obstruction was superior temporal branch vein, accounting for 64.18%,and the least was inferior nasal branch retinal vein occlusion, accounting for 3.48%;Central retinal vein occlusion eye was 100,hemi-central retinal vein occlusion was 17 only, and macular branch retinal vein occlusion eye was 38;ischemic eye was 255,non-ischemic eye was 101;There were 17 eyes complicated RNV and 242 eyes complicated ME.4 The difference of horizontal disc diameter between groups is not statistically significant(F=1.170,P=0.320),yet the difference of cup/disc ratio between groups has statistical significance(F=82.238,P=0.000).The difference of the horizontal disc diameter and the measured cup/disc ratio between normal eyes group and various subgroups of eyes with RVO(BRVO subgroup,CRVO subgroup,H-CRVO subgroup,M-BRVO subgroup)is statistically significant(F=4.490,P=0.001;F=61.396,P=0.000).Compared with normal eyes, the eyes with RVO,eyes with RVO of diabetic patients and eyes with RVO of hypertension patients showed no difference in their disc areas, but a higher cup/disc ratio.Besides,in exception the CRVO subgroup(P=0.002),the difference of horizontal disc diameter between various subgroups of eyes with RVO is not statistically significant, and the difference of cup/disc ratio between various subgroups of eyes with RVO is statistically significant. In exception of the H-CRVO subgroup(the horizontal disc diameter,P=0.010),the difference of the horizontal disc diameters and the cup/disc ratio between ischemic and non-ischemic patients in each single subgroup of eyes with RVO showed no statistical significance.Conclusions:1 RVO's incidence increased with age grouth;the age grade of 40 to 59 years had the high incidence;RVO incidence has no difference in sex and eye sex;BRVO's incidence was high than CRVO's;In BRVO,superior temporal branch retinal vein occlusion was most common;RNV and ME are the two main complications of RVO;FFA has an important significance in RVO's diagnosis, classification type and guiding treatment.2 Small disc area appears to be the risk factor of CRVO onset;the cup/disc ratios of eyes with RVO are generally more or less higher;the distinction between ischemic and non-ischemic in patients with RVO has no significantly effect on their their cup/disc ratios.
