| Objective:To observe clinical efficacy, sex hormone levels and body mass index (BMI) and other aspects of phlegm-dampness type polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) infertility in the treatment of Zhu Yun NO.1 soup combined with letrozole by using acupuncture, and to explore curative effect and functional mechanism of acupuncture combined with medicine to cure PCOS infertility.Methods:60 people met the inclusion criteria of phlegm-dampness type PCOS infertility were randomly divided into treatment group and control group (every group has 30 cases). The treatment group was given acupuncture and Zhu Yun NO.1 soup combined with letrozole, and the control group was given Zhu Yun NO.l soup and letrozole, then menstrual cycles were cured for three months. The traditional Chinese medicine symptoms score, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), serum total testosterone (T) values, LH/FSH, the total efficiency rate, ovulation rate and pregnancy rate between treatment group and control group were compared.Result:(1)The comprehensive curative effect:the total efficiency in treatment group (76.67%) was higher than control group (50%), and there had statistical difference (P<0.05).(2)Clinical symptoms:the phlegm-dampness type PCOS infertility was improved obviously after treatment. Compared to the prior treatment, the TCM syndrome score had significantly changed (P<0.01), but it was no difference between the treatment group and the control group (P>0.05). The total effective rate of TCM Syndrome curative effect in treatment group was 80.00%, which was higher than the control group (53.33%), and that exists a statistical difference (P<0.05).(3)Cycle ovulation rate and pregnancy rate:in the treatment group, the cycle ovulation rate was higher than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05), then the pregnancy rate (30.00%) was slightly higher than the control group (23.33%), but no difference (P> 0.05).(4)BMI:compared to the prior treatment, BMI of two groups were decreased significantly (P<0.01). In addition, the effect reducing BMI in treatment group was better than control group (P<0.05).(5)The changes of sex hormones:the serum LH, LH/FSH and T values were decreased obviously compared to prior treatment, and the difference is statistically significant (P< 0.01). For the improvement of the LH and LH/FSH level, the treatment group was better than the control group (P< 0.05). After treatment, the serum T value in two groups had no significant difference (P> 0.05). Regardless of performing treatment or not, FSH in two groups had no significant improvement (P> 0.05).Conclusion:Combined acupuncture and medicine to cure phlegm-dampness type PCOS infertility, pregnancy rate and cycle ovulation rate were higher than single treatment with Chinese and Western medicine, it can reduce BMI levels an improve LH, T levels, FSH, and LH/FSH ratio, and decrease the integral of TCM syndromes of patients with PCOS. The effect combing acupuncture and medicine is better than single Chinese and Western medicine. |
