Clinical Observation On JianPiHuaTantang Combined With Clomiphene Citrate Treating Infertility Caused By Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Of Spleen Deficiency And Phlegm-damp Stagnation Type

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Jian Pi Hua Tan Tang with Clomiphene Citrate treatment for infertility caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome of Spleen deficiency and phlegm-damp stagnation type through related parameters, then investigate its mechanisms and give an authentic evidence or a theoretical support for clinical therapies.Methods:(1) 96 cases satisfied inclusion criteria of infertility due to PCOS were balanced randomly divided into trial group, Western medicine control group and Chinese medicine control group.(2) The trial group was treated by Jian Pi Hua Tan Tang combined with Clomiphene Citrate, the two control groups respectively given only Clomiphene Citrate and only Jian Pi Hua Tan Tang as treatment.(3) The clinical symptoms, basal body temperature and a series of assay index before and after related treatments, with the pregnancy rate and ovulation effective rate were taken as main statistical parameters.(4)Taking 3 menstrual cycles as one treatment course, analyzed the statistic data and drew conclusions after one treatment course.Results :(1) The 3 groups had no significant difference in general data and baseline conditions.(2) In the aspect of improving the clinical symptoms, there was no significant difference between the trial group and the Chinese medicine control group, while they were superior to the Western medicine control group.(3) The pregnancy rate of the trial group, the Chinese medicine control group and the Western medicine control group were,in order, 40%, 13%, and 10%. While the cycle ovulation rate were78%, 61%, and 53%, in order. There was no significant difference between the trial group and the Chinese medicine control group in the thickness of endometrial on the ovulation day, while their mean endometria on the ovulation day were both thicker than it of the Western medicine control group.(4) In the aspect of endocrine level, the mean levels of the serum hormone,such as LH, LH/FSH, T and FINS, were all reduced in 3 groups, while the trial group was the sharpest one. The Chinese medicine control group was sharper than the Western medicine control group on the mean level reduction of FINS. The mean level of FBG in the trial group was decresed after its treatment.(5) One case was shown mild OHSS in the Western medicine group, while no adverse reaction was detected in the rest.Conclusions:(1) Jian Pi Hua Tan Tang combined with Clomiphene Citrate is a secure and effective therapy in treating infertility caused by polycystic ovarian syndrome of Spleen deficiency and phlegm-damp stagnation type.(2) Jian Pi Hua Tan Tang is an effective therapy in improving the clinical synptoms, compared with Clomiphene Citrate.(3) Comined traditional Chinese medicine with Western medicine can be effective in improving clinical symptoms, deducing the mean level of LH, LH/FSH, T and FINS, as well as raising the pregnancy rate and the ovulation effective rate. It is superior to applying Western or Chinese medicine alone, from the perspective of comprehensive curative effect, and it is worth for clinical application and promotion in treating infertility due to PCOS.
