Objective:To explore the suitable storage conditions, many processing methods were observed to develop the processing standards in the origin. To normalize the traditional Chinese medicinal materials market and provide evidence for commercial grades, different levels of Bozhou Cortex Moutan were choosed to assesse comprehensive evaluation.Methods:1.The moisture, total ash, extract, four main components was choosed to investigate Bozhou Cortex Moutan from different processing methods based on Pharmacopoeia of the people’s Republic of China(2015 Edition). The above results was used to evaluate the effects of different processing methods on the main indexes of the different processing methods.2.The samples of Bozhou Cortex Moutan were separately packaged with composite film vacuum, ordinary polyethylene bag, woven bag, the samples were separately stored in cool place and ambient temperature. Four index components’ contents were determined to choose the best storage conditions.3.The samples were evaluated syntheticly which were from plant base and the market. The factors such as the extract and the main index are used as the index compared with cluster analysis and principal component analysis. The relevance of commercial grades, price and quality was evaluated.Results:1.The results show that the paeonol and Paeoniflorin were the highest in the "skin and core materials" processing method.The content of paeonol was highest in the tail nine processing method.2.There were many differences in the four index components of Bozhou Cortex Moutan which were stored in cool place(15±2℃, 50±2%) and ambient temperature(25±2℃, 50±2%), and there were significant differences in the temperature and packaging method.3.The cluster analysis was used to analyse Bozhou Cortex Moutan from different years, 3, 4, 5 and 6 years were respectively clustered into one group, and the 5 years and 6 years have crossed. The PCA results showed that gallic acid content was the most in the 3 years, the monoterpenoid glucosides and extract was the highest in the four years, the gallic acid content was high and the paeonol was low in the 5 and 6 years. he selected samples were samilar to the unified, five batches of samples has no obvious difference from the enterprise. There were no correlation between the price and four index components. TConclusion:The study suggests the processing methods “remove duramen and leave skin” and “remove duramen and skin ” can be selected based on the evaluation of Bozhou Cortex Moutan from different processing methods. The composite film vacuum packing and cool place stored were the best stored condition. 16 batches of different commercial grades Of Bozhou Cortex Moutan from plant base and 30 batches Bozhou Cortex Moutan yinpian were observed with comprehensive quality evaluation from the market. The results show that it was unreasonable in the classification of Bozhou Cortex Moutan only based on the length and the thickness, the growth years ignored. There were many differences in the comprehensive evaluation in different commercial grades and it has no correlation between the price and the quality. Size, character, color and other external factors determined the commercial grades of Bozhou Cortex Moutan in the market.
