The Assessment Of Topical Application Of Compound Chinese Medicine Auxiliary Treatment Of Chronic Periodontitis

Objectives: In recent years,the periodontal non-surgical treatment is the basic technique for chronic periodontitis,comprised of mechanical methods(supragingival scaling,subgingival curettage).In some instances,periodontal treatment has certain limitation,so it needs to cooperate with drugs,such as oral antibiotic,local washing medicine and so on.Still long term of using antibiotics will cause imbalance of body flora,and will easily give more opportunity of abnormal reaction to the body.Moreover,the Tradition Chinese Medicine Preparation is originate from nature and less side effects.In order to effectively study the advantages of the Tradition Chinese Medicine Preparation,this experiment is proposed anti-bacterial medicinal herbs according to the traditional Chinese medicine experienced prescriptions.We observed,clinical effect of topical application of compound Chinese ointment to chronic periodontitis,which will be referenced for the treatment of chronic periodontitis in the future.Methods:1 Twenty patients with chronic periodontitis were selected in the study.They were randomly divided into two groups A and B,age from 30 to 56,average 44.3±3.46 years old.To avoid other factors that would affect the results,participants should meet some standards.Based on the principle of medical protection,the Tradition Chinese Medicine Preparation was renamed“Periodontal medicine ointment for heat-clearing and antibacterial”.After application of the ointment,we could get the follow-up record of the patients during periodontal recovery.2 Clinical parameters,including PLI?BI?PD?AL?halitosis and gum swelling rate were examined and recorded.3 Basic treatment of periodontitis consisted of plaque control,supragingival scaling,subgingival curettage and occlusal adjustment.4 Experimental group A using“Periodontal medicine ointment for heat –clearing and antibacterial”,and group B were filled with nothing,only in daily oral care.Four weeks later,periodontal indexes of each group were recorded respectively.5 Statistical Analysis by SPSS 13.0 was proceed to discussion.Results: Four weeks after basic treatment,both group A and B were observed improved clinical indicators.After statistics analysis with paired t-test,the differences were significant(P<0.01).Clinical indexes of two groups after treatment were compared with t-test.There is significant difference between group A and B(P<0.05).The therapeutic effect of group A is better.After treatment,group A sore gums improved more significantly than those in the group B,with statistical significance(P<0.05)(chi-square test).Degrees of teeth loose and bad breath improvement of patients in group A were slightly better than those of group B patients,but no statistical significance.Conclusion: In conclusion,Compound Chinese medicine preparation can effectively treat the chronic periodontitis,it is safe and reliable,easily prepared,sweet fragrant,few side effects and easily accepted by the patients.And it should be worthy of clinical promotion.
