Association Rule Analysis Of TCM Patterns And Mechanisms From 382 Cases Of HIV Infectors/AIDS Patients In Guangxi

Objective: Association rule analysis was held to recognize the TCM Patterns and Mechanism of AIDS in Guangxi from a survey conducted by HIV infectors/AIDS patients from multiple centers as a large sample data source.The action was aimed to lay the foundation of using Chinese medicine and boost the preventive promotion on fighting against AIDS in Guangxi.Method: Using the cross-sectional study method from Epidemiology and finishing the recognized survey,“Survey of TCM syndromes for AIDS in Guangxi” by outpatients of Infectious Department at The Forth Hospital of Nanning in May to September 2012(Group A),and Rui Kang Hospital of Guangxi Traditional Chinese Medical University,Chinese Medicine Hospital of Fang Cheng Gang,Chinese Medicine Hospital of Lu Zhai in January to September 2015 respectively(Group B),their profile and the TCM syndromes that were mostly seen at that period of time were managed.MS Excel was used to be the data warehouse and pre-processing was done for data cleaning.For those 382 copies reached the fulfill standard,many sets of frequency and frequency ratio were found by SPSS19.0 program and also Association Rules between the syndromes and the revelent TCM mechanisms werefound by Microsoft SQL Sever 2008 Apriori Algorithm.Result: 1.382 cases of HIV infectors/AIDS patients were fulfilled the research standard,most of them are middle-aged married man,usually transmitted the disease by sexual intercourse.There are 101 TCM syndromes or signs to be counted in,for top 10 of them with descending frequent are: Feeling depressed,lack of strength,ache and soreness in lumber and knees,lots of dreams,thick and moist tongue fur,forgetful,dizzy,red tongue,fatigue and night urinary.2.382 cases of HIV infectors/AIDS patients were counted as the whole population for Association Rules calculation,setting of 2 itemsets for association rule brought out the result of 1569 association rules with 3765 sets of frequent itemsets,while setting of 3 itemsets brought out 42863 association rules with 86566 frequent itemsets.For Group A satisfying the parameter settings,setting of 2 itemsets brought 1639 association rules with 3759 frequent itemsets,while setting of 3 itemsets brought 48382 association rules with 79727 frequent itemsets.For Group B satisfying the parameter settings,setting of 2 itemsets brought 1825 association rules with 4013 frequent itemsets,while setting of 3 itemsets brought 48395 association rules with 96109 frequent itemsets.For HIV testing group satisfying the parameter settings,setting of 2 itemsets brought 1722 association rules with 4112 frequent itemsets,while setting of 3 itemsets brought 45795 association rules with 99111 frequent itemsets.For AIDS testing group satisfying the parameter settings,setting of 2 itemsets brought 1815 association rules with 3690 frequent itemsets,while setting of 3 itemsets brought 51136 association rules with 74463 frequent itemsets.Conclusion: 1.Through the study found that the TCM symptoms or signs of people living with HIV/AIDS patients in Guangxi main show are feeling depressed,lack of strength and ache.2.The Basic TCM Mechanism of AIDS syndromes in Guangxi can be summarized into 4 words: Weakness,Heat,Stagnation and Blood stasis.Weakness is the leading role of them,the remaining 3 comes up equally.Heart,liver and kidney were the 3 main viscera involved in Visceral Syndrome Differentiation,both of them were shown to be in Diminish weakness.3.Close relationship of symptoms and signs of the same mechanism could be observed from the association rule analysis.Proper use of association rule analysis could help to predict the moving trend of diseases and prepare prevention methods.Association rule analysis is helpful to deepen the objective and scientific standardization of TCM Patterns and Mechanisms and have marvelous value on the promotion and application of “cure unformed disease” in TCM industry.
