Objective: Tei index and NT-pro BNP level of various TCM syndrome types of patients with chronic cardiac failure should be collected. The correlation of TCM syndrome types, Tei index and NT-pro BNP will be discussed, which will serve as the reference for objective research of TCM differentiation of chronic cardiac failure. Methods: After the interrelated information of patients with chronic heart failure are collected, the following items would be conducted: syndrome differentiation of TCM, score of clinical symptom, NYHA heart function classification, Tei index detection, NT-pro BNP inspection. In addition, the correlation of TCM syndrome types of chronic cardiac failure, NT-pro BNP and Tei index will be analyzed. Results: 1.The total score of six symptoms are sorted from high to low as following: Yang spirit deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm retention group > deficiency of both qi and yin with blood stasis and phlegm retention group > qi deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm retention group > Yang spirit deficiency with blood stasis group > deficiency of both qi and yin with blood stasis group > qi deficiency with blood stasis group.2.As for NT-pro BNP and Tei index, the total score of six symptoms are sorted from high to low as following: Yang spirit deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm retention group > Yang spirit deficiency with blood stasis group > deficiency of both qi and yin with blood stasis and phlegm retention group > blood stasis and phlegm retention group > deficiency of both qi and yin with blood stasis group > qi deficiency with blood stasis group. NT-pro BNP level is positively related with NYHA heart function classification, Tei index and the NT-pro BNP level also show positive correlation.3.There are differences between the group with phlegm retention syndrome and the group without phlegm retention syndrome in NYHA heart function classification, NT-pro BNP, Tei index and total scores of symptoms.Conclusion:1. There are significant differences for chronic cardiac failure patients with different TCM syndrome in total scores of symptoms, NT- pro BNP level and Tei index, which could be the reference index for syndrome differentiation.2.The chronic cardiac failure patients with different TCM syndrome types show different heart function damage degree. According to the chronic cardiac failure syndrome evolution, the progress goes as the following process: from qi deficiency and blood stasis to deficiency of both qi and yin deficiency with blood stasis, then qi deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm retention, and then both qi and yin deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm retention, next Yang spirit deficiency with blood stasis, and at last Yang spirit deficiency with blood stasis and phlegm retention.
