The Clinical Observation Of Shenqi Yixin Formula In The Treatmeat Of Chronic Heart Failure And The Impact Of It On Insulin Resistance And Leptin

Objective We observed the efficacy of Shenqi Yixin Formula in male patients with heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction and were categorized in the yang deficiency and blood stasis type, and investigated the impacts of Shenqi Yixin Formula on ameliorating insulin resistance and leptin level which were usually found in heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction individuals.Methods sixty male patients all with the diagnostic criteria of heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (NYHA ?/?) and insulin resistance in western medicine context and the yang deficiency and blood stasis type in the chinese traditional medicine. According to the random digits table, patients were divided into treatment arm and control arm in a 1:1 ratio(n=30:30). Individuals in the control arm were administered with routine anti-heart failure medicine, whereas patients in the treatment group received conventional management but also additional Shenqi Yixin Formula (150ml, every mornings and evenings, taken on an empty stomach with warm water).Results:There had significant improvement(p<0.01) effect on cardiac function, the TCM syndrome and score, the echocardiography indexes,6-minuts walking test and physical-chemical indexes(fasting leptin level, fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin level, fasting serum triglyceride, fasting serum cholesterol, body mass index and HOMA-IR)in both arms at baseline and after treatment; Except 6-minuts walking test and body mass index(p> 0.05), between group difference of other indexes reached statistical significance(p< 0.05) in after treatment, the treatment arm had a statistically significant improvement than that of control arm.Conclusion:1, Shenqi Yixin Formula can ameliorate cardiac function.2, Shenqi Yixin Formula had favorable effects on the TCM syndrome.3, ShenqiYixin Formula had beneficial effects on ameliorating insulin resistance and high leptin level in heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction individuals.
