Objective To investigate the correlation between plasma level of copeptin and the incidence of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease(CHD) and the severity of the coronary artery lesions in diabetics. Methods (1)Coronary angiography (CAG) is performed in 173 diabetics who visit Zhongda Hospital affiliated to Southeast University between August 2014 and August 2015. The plasma level of copeptin is determined before CAG. According to the quartiles of the plasma level of copeptin, diabetics are divided into four groups:44 diabetics in group A(copeptin level?0.608 pmol/L),43 diabetics in group B(0.608 pmol/L< copeptin level?1.497 pmol/L),43 diabetics in group C(1.497 pmol/L< copeptin level?5.483 pmol/L), 43 diabetics in group D(copeptin level>5.483 pmol/L). Compare the differences of baseline data and incidence of CHD between the four groups. (2) According to CAG and Gensini scroe, diabetics are divided into four groups:mild stenosis group(n=50, Gensini scroe<20), moderate stenosis group(n=19,20?Gensini scroe<40), severe stenosis group(n=21, Gensini scroe?40),and normal coronary artery group as control (n=20). Compare the differences of plasma level of copeptin between the four groups. Results (1) The incidence of CHD was 34.1%(15/44) in group A,44.2%(19/43) in group B,58.1%(25/43) in group C,72.1%(31/43) in group D. The higher plasma level of copeptin, the higher incidence of CHD (P<0.05). (2) The plasma level of copeptin in moderate stenosis group and severe stenosis group are higher than control group and mild stenosis group (P<0.05). There are not significant difference between severe stenosis group and moderate stenosis group(p>0.05). There are also not significant difference between the control group and the mild stenosis group(p>0.05).Conclusion The plasma level of copeptin and the incidence of CHD in diabetics are positively correlated. The plasma level of copeptin and the severity of the coronary artery lesions in diabetics are positively correlated.
