Background: For atherosclerosis, both innate and adaptive immunity play an important role in its initiation and development. Acceleration of immunity in body would contribute to the instability, rupture and inner hemorrhage of local coronary artery plaque, thus resulting in acute coronary syndrome. CD4+CD25+FOXP3+regulatory T cell(Treg) has been shown to be able to suppress the immunity in atherosclerosis and act as a role of immunity protector. The realization of Treg protect role include direct contact between cells and secretion of anti-inflammatory cytokines, including IL10 and TGF-B. In addition, as another possible effector cytokine of Treg in exerting its immunosuppressive role, sfgl2, soluble form of fibrinogen like protein2, has gained more and more attention. In renal transplantation, virus hepatitis and skin transplantation, the immunosuppressive activity of sfgl2 and the correlation of its expression with Treg percent have been collaborated. However, in atherosclerosis, the possible protect role of sfgl2 and its correlation with Treg level were both unknown. We design this study to investigate the the possible role of sfgl2 in atherosclerosisMethods: All the enrolled subjects in our study were divided into three groups, that is normal coronary artery(NCA) people, stable angina(SA)people and acute coronary syndrome(ACS) people. Peripheral blood for each patient were obtained with a heparinization tube. After centrifugation, serum and peripheral blood cells were got for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and flow cytometry and serum level of sfgl2 and plasma level of Treg were respectively measured.Result: In line with the change of Treg, serum level of sfgl2 in ACS(8.70ng/ml) were significantly decreased, compared with that in SA(11.86ng/ml) and NCA(17.55ng/ml).Conclusion: Both sfgl2 and Treg level were significantly descended in group of ACS people. As another possible effector cytokine of Treg in immunity suppression, sfgl2 may play a protective role in atherosclerosis.
