Objective To assess the prevalence and analyze the influence factors of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease(LPRD) in the Fuzhou region,in order to provide a theoretical basis for the development of prevention and control measures for LPRD. Methods A questionnaire survey of 4100 community residents in Fuzhou by a random cluster sampling was carried out. Individual information, reflux symptom index(RSI) of Belafsky and risk factors were included. Patients more than 13 scores of RSI were difined as LPRD. Datas were statistically analyzed by spss software. Results(1) Demographic characteristics:the individual information contained different communities, age, educational level, occupation, marriage and so on in Fuzhou. 10-19 years old, 20-29 years old,30-39 years old, 40-49 years old, 50-59 years old and 60-70 years old were 13.81%, 22.59%, 20.72%, 17.23%, 16.74% and 8.91% of all.(2)Epidemiological characteristics of LPRD: a total of 4100 residents were in vestigated, however, the effective questionnaire was 4063 cases. The prevalence of LPRD was 5.00%(203/4063). LPRD compared to different age groups, the difference was statistically significant(?2=11.131, p=0.049). The prevalence of 30-39 years old compared with 10-19 years old was statistically significant(?2=8.532, p=0.003). The prevalence of LPRD in men was higher than in women(P<0.001). The prevalence of LPRD in different occupations was statistically significant(P<0.001). The prevalence of industrial workers was 7.89%(24/304), higher than that in students(4/196, 3.14%). The scores of RSI was correlated with clearing throat, the correlation coefficient was 0.687. The occurrence of LPRD was correlated with dysphagia and pharyngeal foreign body sensation also. Often eating too much, often drinking strong tea, menolipsis, rhinitis, tonsillitis were closely related to LPRD. Conclusions The prevalence of LPRD in Fuzhou region was 5.00%, and often eati-ng too much, often drinking strong tea, menolipsis, rhinitis, tonsillitis were closely related to LPRD.
