Objective: To investigate the patients with main symptoms of hoarseness, learn the relationship with the laryngopharyngeal reflux disease, analyze the relationship of the related diseases causing hoarseness and the laryngopharyngeal reflux diseases and provide the basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods: In this study, the cases of 118 patients with hoarseness are collected fromthe First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University during January 2017 to February 2017 to perfect Reflux symptom index and Reflux finding score. The results are analyzed statistically with SPSS 17.0.Results:1 There are 118 patients with hoarseness in the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University during Jan.2016.1- Feb.2017, all patients have perfected Reflux symptom index and Reflux finding score, including 75 males and 43 females with ages of 14-86, and the course of diseases are one month to ten years.2 The incidence of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease:There are 63 patients with an incidence of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease whose RSI> 13 or RFS> 7, accounting for 53.39% of the total population, 48 males with the prevalence rate of 64.0% and 15 females with the prevalence rate of 34.88% ( x2=10.50,P=0.001) .3 According to the statistical analysis, there is a statistically significant in the age of patients with laryngopharyngeal reflux disease (t = 2.412, P = 0.017). And there is no statistically significant with the course of disease (taking month as unit)(t=0.390,P=0.698 ) , history of drinking (year) (t=1.997,P=0.050 ) and smoking history (year) (t =1.969, P = 0.053).4 In this investigation, the patients all have the main symptoms of hoarseness, hawking ( 97.20% ) , foreign body sensation of throat (63.56%),rarely have disturbance in respiration (11.86%), cough after a meal or in laying down ( 17.80% )and other symptoms related to reflux. The vocal cord oedema (98.30%) and erythema/ hyperemia (42.37%) are common below the vocal cords and the granuloma(10.17% ) is rare.5 Among the 63 patients with positive LPRD, there are 51 (80.95%) with vocal cord benign-lesions and 12 (19.05%) with malignant tumors of vocal cord (mainly squamous cell carcinoma). Among the 55 patients with non - pharyngeal reflux disease, there are 40 (72.72%) with vocal cord benign- lesions and 15 (27.27%) with malignant tumors of vocal cord.,Conclusion: 1 In this survey, the incidence of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease of patients with hoarseness is higher.2 The incidences of the laryngopharyngeal reflux disease are higher of male than that of female, men and women have different morbidities.3 The occurrence of laryngopharyngeal reflux disease may be age-related, may not be related to the duration of the course of disease and the history of the smoking and drinking.4 According to the statistical analysis, this experiment fails to explain the morbidity differences of LPRD in vocal cord benign -lesions and malignant lesions.
