| Objective To explore the relationship between health status, social support and general well-being,this study investigated general well-being status and influencing factors through the endowment at home and institution, and compared the similarities and differences of home care and pension institutions.Thus we could discuss the development of home and agency pension services in depth, and could provide a basis for further improvement of home care services and institutions that provides pension services.Methods Selected the elderly cases during November 2014 to March 2015 in Yantai city pension institutions and home care services respectively as the research object with the convenience sampling method. Used the general information questionnaire, general well-being scale,social support rating scale, and SF-36 Health Survey short form to investigate,used SPSS17.0 to do statistical analysis, taked the method of correlation analysis and regression analysis to analyze the relationship of social supporting, the quality of life and general well-being.Results 1.The overall well-being score of home care elderly was(83.51 ± 14.35),the overall well-being score of institutional pension elderly was(77.87 ±12.27), which in addition to the emotional and behavioral control dimensions, the other dimensions of the differences have statistical significance. The social support score of home care elderly was(42.77±7.39),the social support score of institutional pension elderly was(41.11 ±7.06), the latter was lower than the former,which had statistical significance(P < 0.05);the subjective support and utilization of support score of home care elderly was higher than the institutions endowment, the objective support score of home care elderly is lower than the institutions institutional pension,which also had statistical significance(P < 0.05).2.No matter in home care or pension institutions,the social support score was positively correlated to the score of overall well-being(r=0.335,P<0.01).3.Regression analysis showed: home care for the elderly vitality, mental health, subjective support can affect their overall well-being,Institutional care for the elderly mental health, overall health, the main caregivers, social function, support for the use of degrees, physiological functions, children to visit the situation can affect their overall well-being.Conclusion 1.The social support and the overall well-being score of home care elderly is higher than the pension institution.2.The social support and quality of life has close relationship with the general well-being of the elderly, strong support from the society and family will enhance the general well-being of the elderly. |
