Study On Socialwork Invervention In Medical And Aged Care Integrated Pension Institutions

Nowadays,the number of elderly people continues to rise,the problem of population aging is prominent,which can be concluded as the increasing number of the elderly suffering from chronic deseases,those with difficulties of living by themselves,as well as people who are disabled and semi-disabled,whilst there are huge gaps between diversified care needs and services from home care,community care and institutions.The integrated medical and elderly care services emerge,which refers to the provision of medical services to the elderly who choose institutions for the elderly based on the basic living services and economic support provided by traditional institutions for the elderly.Whereas satisifying the daily care and medical demands,psychological counseling,spiritual comfort,social participation,hospice care and other multi-level needs have been taken into consideration by this integrated care service.The assistance of social work is also required,given that it is not enough to achieve the integrated medical and elderly care services by institutions alone.Social work is guided by altruism and scientific theories to assist disadvantaged groups in difficulties and help them with environmental challenges.This study takes Binzhou City’s typical integrated medical and elderly care institution-A Elderly Care Service Center as an example,comprehensively uses quantitative and qualitative research methods to conduct questionnaire surveys and interviews with the staff in the institution and the elderly residents,and summarizes the main characteristics and specific needs of the elderly from the integrated medical and elderly care institutions.It also looks into the status quo of social work intervention in the integrated medical care and elderly care services,finds out that the coverage of the main body of social work intervention is not comprehensive,the intervention content is highly homogenous,and the degree of specialization is low.There are contradictions among the service agencies of the nursing care integration,and the intervention of social workers presents the problem of poor results.This study specifically analyzes the reasons for the problems,and puts forward countermeasures and suggestions from the level of medical and elderly integrated institutions,social levels and government perspectives,then provides guidance and reference to further improve social work in the field of integrated medical and elderly services.
