BackgroundTotal hip arthroplasty(THA)has become therapeutics to target the osseous arthritis,b one diseases such as aseptic necrosis of the femoral neck fracture. With its extensive applic ation, various complications began to occur, such as postoperative infection, prosthesis loo sening and heterotopic ossification etc.,but the most common and harmful complication i s lower limb deep vein thrombosis(DVT).It is reported that the incidence of complic ation with lower limb deep vein thrombosis after hip replacement was up to 35%-68%,incidence of pulmonary embolism was up to 1%-2%.Once DVT has been form ed,the patient's life and mentality would be devastated, therefore positive prevention of per ioperative period is important.During perioperative period,Intermittent pneumatic compr ession therapy treatment should be applied to increase endogenous fibrinolysis activity o f plasma, that will effectively reduce the overall incidence of lower limb deep vein thromb osis.As a simple, safe, humanized and effective method,Intermittent pneumatic compres sion therapy treatment has been recognized by many scholars. In the past two years, our h ospital has been analyzing curative effects of lower limb deep vein thrombosis when applie d Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy after hip replacement, hoping to provid e a basis for clinical diagnosis.ObjectiveExplore curative effects of lower limb deep vein thrombosis when applied Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy treatment after hip replacement. Methods Selected 60 cases of patients with unilateral total hip replacement, divided them int o control group and treatment group. In control group(provided basic prevention and dru g prevention measures)of 28 cases, where male to female ratio was 18:12,age ranged fro m 62 to 80,70.63±5.36 on average,Body Mass Index ranged from 19.3 to24.6,21.25±1.56 on average; In treatment group(plus Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy comp ared with control group)of 32 cases, where male to female ratio was 17:13,aged ranged fr om 61-79,69.85±6.37 on average,Body Mass Index ranged from 18.5-24.5,20.95±2.31 o n average. Two groups of patients went through blood routine and six items of blood coagu lation examinations after admission.Color ultrasonic diagnosis of the depth of the double l ower limbs vein was also taken to eliminate the effects of coagulation disorder and its relev ant diseases.Recorded intraoperative blood loss and postoperative suction drainage to unde rstand the differences, and calculate the rate of change of two groups of postoperative dail y body size, the incidence of DVT and pulmonary embolism to evaluate the effectiveness o f Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy.ResultsThe two groups, blood loss and postoperative suction drainage was not statistically si gnificant(P >0.05);In control group, the rate of change of postoperative daily body size w as significantly lower than the treatment group, differences were significant(P<0.01);The i ncidence of DVT in treatment group was obviously lower than control group, the differenc e was statistically significant(P<0.01).ConclusionWhen Intermittent pneumatic compression therapy is applied postoperatively,it ca n significantly reduce postoperative edema of the limbs as well as the incidence of postope rative DVT.
