Objective:LMWH is a routine agent for the thromboprophylaxis after total joint arthroplasty,and it is increasingly used for patients have received TKA.Since rivaroxaban had come into the market in 2009,it is replacing LMWH to be the first choice for post-operating prophylaxis gradually,because of its better efficiency and convenient method of application.And there are more and more studies keep their eyes on these two medicines.However,almost all of them concentrate on the effect of preventing deep venous thrombosis(DVT)and pulmonary embolus(PE),and the safety of reducing the rates of post-operating bleeding.But the study on other aspects of these two medicines is quiet few.The objective of this retrospective study is to assess the effect of LMWH and rivaroxaban on the local temperature,edema degrees and inflammation reaction of lower limbs of patients after unilateral TKA.Patients and Methods:All the patients(n=43)came from orthopedic department of Shandong Province Hospital during August.2016 to January.2017 who received unilateral TKA surgery.Among them,male account 28%(n=12)and female account 72%(n=31).The age range from 51 to 83(medium age=67).Each patient after TKA were treated with either LMWH(0.4ml H.qd)or rivaroxaban(10mg p.o.qd)randomly for 35 days and we detected their lower limb temperature,cross-section diameter of superior patellar 15cm and inferior patellar 15cm and the concentration of inflammation factors every day for at least one week.Then analyze if there is any difference between the two groups through Chi-square(CI=95%).Result:Two patients were excluded and 41 patients were included in our analysis.Compared to LMWH group,patients received thromboproplyaxis with rivaroxaban was associated with no significant difference of lower limb temperature(P>0.05),edema degree(P>0.05)and inflammation reaction(P>0.05).Conclusion:LMWH and rivaroxaban have the same effect on the edema degree and inflammation reaction of patients after unilateral TKA.
