Objective:The aim of this study is to dectect the changes in serum calprotectin levels in patients with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome?OSAHS?,and to discuss whether patients with OSAHS sleep at night because of repeated intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation,leading the body to produce oxidative stress and inflammation,may be involved in the progression of atherosclerosis.Methods:1.To collect male patients diagnosed as OSHAS by respiratory clinic in our hospital,and to measure the height,weight,blood pressure,age and other basic information.All selected patients were monitored by polysomnography and recorded polysomnography?PSG?.According to the apnea hypopnea index?AHI?were divided into mild,moderate and severe three groups,including mild in 16 cases,moderate in 18 cases,severe in 18 cases.Eighteen non-OSAHS patients with matched body mass index and age were selected as the control group.2.Detection of serum calprotectin concentration:subjects overnight fasting 12h,morning fasting venous blood collected 4ml,after centrifugation,the serum was placed in-70? refrigerator to be tested,after sufficient collection of the samples,serum calprotein levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay?ELISA?.3.SPSS 17.0 software was used to analyze the correlation between serum calprotectin concentration and apnea hypopnea index?AHI?and minimum SpO2?mini SpO2?.Results:Changesn of Serum Calprotectin Concentration:Serum calprotectin concentration in OSAHS group was significantly higher than that in control group?P<0.05?.Compared with moderate group,the concentration of calprotectin in moderate and severe group was significantly higher than that in moderate group?P<0.01?.Correlation analysis:Compared with moderate group,the concentration of calprotectin in severe group was significantly higher than that in moderate group?P<0.01?.There was a significant negative correlation between serum calprotectin concentration and AHI?r=0.893,P<0.01?.Serum calprotectin concentration was negatively correlated with minimum oxygen saturation?r =-0.726,P<0.01?.Conclusion:The intermittent hypoxia and sleep fragmentation in OSAHS male patients cause oxidative stress and inflammation increased,and may be may be involved in the formation of atherosclerosis.
