ObjectivesBy gathering the cases of children asthma treated with acupoint application method which based on modern thesis, eventually achievie the following objectives: (1) To evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupoint in the treatment of asthma in children. (2) Analyze the characteristics of thesis in order to summarize the rules for clinical and scientific research.Search methodsManipulate right retrieved strategies by using the China National Knowledge Internet(CNKI), and the VIP science and technology periodical database(VIP), China Biology Medicine disc(CBMdisc), the PubMed database, the Embase database, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL), the international clinical test registered platform retrieved and points application treatment children asthma related of random control test. Finally search manually the published journals of main Traditional Chinese Medicine of before March 2016.Including and excluding criteriaReference to childhood asthma diagnosis standards, we included the acupoint application as the intervention, Western medicine, placebo, oral administration of Chinese herbal medicine as random controlled trials groups. We excluded random controlled trials which using placebo combined with other interventions such as western medicine, acupuncture and so on. We excluded the treatment group which using acupoint application combined with other interventions such as Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, western medicine and so on.Data collection and analysisTwo researchers extracted data and assessed the quality of included studies separately. Then we used RevMan5.3 statistical analysis software to assesse the risks of bias, and analysis the data.A last we adopted GRADE Profiler 3.6 software for evidence grading.Main resultsSearch results:We searched 297 articles totally. There were 286 articles excluded,11 articles included finally. They recruited 1064 patients of children asthma whom were divided by two groups. The first group is acupoint application including 59U cases,The second group is control group including 474 cases. The age of all the patients was between 0-14 yeas old.Bias assess results:Most of the trials have a high risk of bias, and most of them have not introduced their conceal and random methods.Analysis reslts:Meta- analysis resultsAcupoint application therapy VS conventional therapy:Clinical efficacy[RR 1.15,95% CI(1.08,1.23)], low.Acupoint application therapy VS western medicine therapy:[RR 1.12,95% CI(1.05,1.20)], low; Acupoint application therapy VS placebo therapy [RR 1.322, 95% CI (1.14,1.53)],very low.Qualitative analysisAcupoint application therapy VS western medicine therapy:desease index, very low.Acupoint application therapy VS western medicine therapy:1、IgE [WMD 5.03,95% CI (420.41,430.47)],low; 2. IgA [WMD 0.50,95% CI (0.26, 0.74)],low;3、NO [WMD 0.95,95% CI (-2.12,0.22)], very low.Acupoint application therapy VS placebo therapy:Clinical efficacy 1、FEV1 [WMD 10.82,95% CI (3.87,17.77)],low; 2、PEF [WMD 10.55,95% CI (4.04, 17.06)],low; FEV1/FEVC [WMD 13.24,95% CI (5.68,20.80)],very low.Conclusions1. When children asthma in remission stage treated by point application, can improve the clinical outcome and improve the patient’s conditions which were better than conventional controlled group and placebo patch group. But the proof of the quality was "low" or "very low".So the conclusion should be treated with cautions.2. Compared acupoint application therapy and placebo therapy,we found that acupoint application therapy can improve clinical outcomes, and improve the lung functions of asthmatic children in remission state (PEF, FEV], FEV1/FEVC).But the proof of quality was "low" or "very low".So the conclusion should be treated with cautions.3. The acupoint application therapy and conventional therapy in reducing the occurrence of pediatric asthma and colds had no significant differences. So did the aspect of improving stuffy nose and sweating symptom. Then we can conclude that efficacy of the acupoint application therapy and conventional therapy was same. But the proof of quality was "low" or "very low".So the conclusion should be treated with cautions.4. The efficacy of both acupoint application therapy and conventional therapy in improving blood parameters (IgA, and IgE, and NO), had no significant differences, But the proof of quality was "very low".So the conclusion should be treated with cautions.5. When in remission stage of children asthma, the oral administration is better than point application in the area of clinical,. But the proof of quality was "low".So the conclusion should be treated with cautions.6. Treating children asthma with acupoint application had no significant adverse reactions compared with western medicine, but clinical consideration adverse reactions such as blistering and redness is more common. So the conclusion should be treated with cautions;...
