Observation On Surface Electromyography Activity Of Patients With Cervical Spondylopathy Of Cervical Type By Proprioceptive Sensibility Reflexotherapy

ObjectiveTo explore the effect of proprioceptive sensibility reflexotherapy treating patients with cervical spondrlopathy of cervical type by surface electromyography.MethodsSixty patients with cervical spondrlopathy of cervical type were randomly divided to two groups:proprioceptive sensibility reflexotherapy group,which received a muscle manipulation targeted to relax the muscle,and a control group,which a cervical spine manipulation targeted to C3-C6 segments.The two groups all accepted three treatments.Outcome were sEMG data of sternocleidomasoid muscle and erector muscle of cervical spine,pressure pain threshold of jian zhong shu and Simplified McGill pain questionnaire(MPQ).They were assessed before and 20 minutes after treatment every time and after two weeks of treatments by a blinded assessor.Results1.After first treatment,the significance on pain intensity(PPI)of MPQ between the two groups was found(t=-2.628,p=0.011).2.There were significant differences on pressure pain threshold of jian zhong shu between the two groups after first treatment on left(t=-2.380 p=0.021)and second treatment on right(t=-2.319 p=0.024)and left(t=-2.366 p=0.022).3.A significant difference about RMS of sternocleidomastoid muscle on right side between two groups were observed after three treatments(Z1=-2.411 p=0.016,Z2=-3.427 p=0.001,Z3=-3.435 p=0.001)rotating to right side.And it was also found on left rotation after second treatment(Z=-4.020 p=0.000).4.After first treatment,the significance on the ratio of flexion and relaxation test of erector muscle of cervical spine was found in the left side(t=-2.366 p=0.025).ConclusionThe control group and the observation group can effectively improve the patients with cervical spondrlopathy of cervical type the subjective feeling and pressure pain threshold of jian zhong shu;In sEMGactivities,there is no significance between two groups,but the control group practices influence on RMS of the sternocleidomastoid muscle on the rotation than the observation group.
