Clinical Research Of Pediatric Massage In Treating Chronic Cough Induced By Phlegm Retention In The Lung

ObjectiveTo explore the clinical efficacy of pediatric massage in treating child cough induced by phlegm retention in lung by calculating the scores in symptoms and signs of TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine).Methods60 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group(n=30)and control group(n=30),The treatment group:pediatric massage.Control group:JUHONG TAN KE YE.Analyzing the results with statistical methods,treatment group receive massage every day,control group with Chinese patent medicine three times a day,7 days for a course,In total for 1 courses,evaluation was taking after each treatment course in symptom and sign scores to observe the situation of cough.Results(1)clinical efficacy:after 1 circle treatment,the test group of 30 cases in total:2 cases were cured,14 cases were marked effective,12 cases were effective,2 cases was invalid.Control group of 30 cases in number:0 case was cured,3 cases was markedly effective,19 cases were effective,8 cases were invalid.After treatment,the total effective rate of test group and control group was 93.3%and 73.3%respectively.Comparing the effects of two groups,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),showing that the total efficiency of the test group was significantly higher than the other group,meaning that child massage would significantly improve curative effect than conventional medicine treatment.(2)Symptom and sign scores:after one course of treatment,TCM symptoms and signs of the two groups were improved after treatment,Both two groups had significant difference(P<0.01);but test group is better than the control group in the improvement of cough,auscultation in lung and secondary symptoms(P<0.01),no significant difference between two groups in the expectoration(P>0.05),which implied that the efficacy of test group in improving the clinical symptom and sign for children cough is much better than the control group.ConclusionAll the results showed that applying infantile massage on children’s cough(phlegm retention in the lung)can significantly improve the clinical efficacy,which is better than simply using Chinese patent medicine group.
