Effect Of Naoxintong Capsule On Quantitative Exercise Abilities In Altitude Youth

Objective: To observe the effect of Naoxintong Capsule(NXT)on quantitative exercise abilities in altitude acclimatized youth.Methods:A randomized,double-blinded,placebo-controlled trail was performed at altitude of 4300 m and 5070 m.40 young men who got acclimatized to high altitude were recruited.The subjects were randomly divided into Buchang Naoxintong Capsule experimental group(n=20),intervened by Buchang Naoxintong Capsule 1.6g(4 capsules)twice per day for 15 days,and the placebo control group(n=20),intervened by flour placebo capsules(4 capsules)twice per day for 15 days.The data of quantitative exercise indicators were collected before and after the treatments.The data inclued heart rate,SaO2,PWC170,VO2 max when the subjects at rest and after loading exercises.Each subject underwent a blood test to detect the lever of blood lactate(LA),malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),nitric oxide(NO)and nitric oxide synthase(NOS)when they at fasting and resting 5 min after exercises.Results: 36 subjects(placebo control group: n=18,vs Naoxintong Capsule experimental group: n=18)finished the experiment.The two groups showed significantly higher LA and MDA and lower NOS after exercises compared with those at rest,both before and after the treatment(P<0.05).The NXT group showed significantly incresed SaO2,SaO2 at the first load,PWC170,NOS,lower LA and MDA after the treatment,compared with they before taking the medicine(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the NXT group showed significantly higher PWC170,NOS,lower LA,MDA after treatment(P<0.05);Compared with 5070 m group,4300 m group showed significantly higher SaO2,SaO2 at the first load(P<0.01).The two high altitude groups showed significantly increased quantitative exercise indicators,decreased oxidative stress indicators after treatment(P<0.01).Conclusion: Naoxintong capsule can improve the quantitative exercise abilities in the altitude acclimatized youth which may be associated with Naoxintong capsule's anti hypoxia and oxidative response,and the effect is not affected by the altitude.
