Analysis Of TCM Constitution Types In 330 Cases Of Chronic Urticaria

Chronic urticaria is a kind of allergic disease,due to the development of society and the change of social environment,natural environment,diet,mental status,the number of patients is increasing year by year,Chronic urticaria has become a common and frequently occurring disease in Department of Dermatology now.The disease is characterized by severe itching,recurrent and so on,which can cause serious distress to the patient’s life.So how to effectively control the symptoms,reduce the frequency of recurrence and achieve long-term efficacy is the emphasis and difficulty in treatment.In recent years TCM Constitution theory is developing very fast and has been widely used in clinical research,among which Professor Wang Qi’s theory of constitution is treated as the representative.Professor Wang Qi proposed the "skin-body-related" theory that the type of skin disease and individual constitution are closely related.Therefore,based on the theory of TCM Constitution,this study is to discuss the relationship between the pathogenesis of chronic urticaria and the constitution of TCM and the relationship between syndrome and constitution and the objective of the study is to put forward the idea and method of treating chronic urticaria with the theory of differentiation,so as to provide new ideas for the prevention and treatment of chronic urticaria.Objective To investigate the relationship between chronic urticaria and Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)constitution types,to provide new ideas for the treatment and prevention of chronic urticaria.Methods Gathering 330 cases of chronic urticaria,and classify their types of constitution and survey the related constitutional factors by two 2 doctors of TCM.Results Of 330 patients,yang deficiency type took the largest proportion,the ratio of each type are as follows:the Yang-deficiency type took 21.8%,normol constution 20.6%,specific endowment 17.0%,Qi-deficiency 10.0%,dampness-heat 10.0%,qi-stagnation 8.5%,phlegm-dampness 6.7%,Yin-deficiency 6.4%,blood-stasis 3.6%.In terms of gender,the majority of men were normol constution(28.2%),specific endowment(19.4%),dampness-heat(15.5%),and the majority of women were Yang-deficiency(27.8%),normol constution(17.2%),and specific endowment(15.9%);In terms of age,young people(18-30 years old)are mostly specific endowment,middle-aged(30-50 years old)and the elderly(aged 50-75)are mostly Yang-deficiency,with the increase of age,the growth trend of Yin-deficiency is more obvious,and the quality of the special substance is decreased.From the perspective of dietetic habits,patients who usually eat sweet and spicy greasy food are susceptible to be specific endowment and dampness-heat,while patients with salty diet mostly belong to Yang-deficiency and Qi-deficiency,and who usually eat cold food are susceptible to be specific endowment and Qi-deficiency.In addition,parients who usually sleep less than 6 hours are mostly Yin-deficiency and qi-stagnation;Patients with anxiety and depression are more likely to be qi-stagnation,irritable patients are mostly Yang-deficiency and specific endowment;overweight patients are mostly phlegm-dampness.In terms of skin differentiation,normol constution are mostly wind-heat syndrome;Qi-deficiency,phlegm-dampness and dampness-heat are mostly wind-dampness syndrome;Yin-deficiency and blood-stasis are mostly wind-heat syndrome and wind-dampness syndrome;Yang-deficiency,qi-stagnation and specific endowment are mostly wind-heat syndrome and wind-dampness syndrome.In terms of overall syndrome,exterior syndrome and spleen deficiency-dampness retention syndrome are common in nine constitution types,otherwise,Yang-deficiency are mostly Yang-deficiency syndrome and phlegm-dampness are mostly gastrointestinal-damp heat syndrome.The distribution of constitution types has statistical significance in gender,age,diet,sleep habits,personality,body shapes and Syndrome type(P<0.05),has no statistical significance in smoking,alcohol drinking(P>0.05).Conclusion Yang-deficiency,normol constution and special constitution are the main constitution types in patients with chronic urticaria;The distribution of constitution types in patients with chronic urticaria is related to gender,age,diet,sleep habits,personality,body shapes and syndrome type,and there is no significant correlation between smoking,alcohol drinking.
