Clinical Observation In Liver-fire Type Of Menopause Insomnia Treated By Superficial Needling

Objectives Observe the clinical effects in liver-fire type of menopause insomnia treated by superficial needling.Methods Select 60 menopause insomnia patients,who reach the research standard and receive treatment at the department of acupuncture and encephalopathy in the second people's hospital affiliated to Fujian university.Patients are randomly divided into two groups:Superfi-cial needling group and traditional Chinese medicine group,30 patients for each group.Superficial needling group takes tranquilizing point and Shangen point as main acupoint,while Shenmen,Fengchi,Xingjian,Taichong as matching acupoints.For matching acupoints,bilateral acupoints are taken and given by shallow acupuncture,once a day.Patients of traditional Chinese medicine group take Danzhi Xiaoyao pills orally,9 gram a time and twice a day.It takes both groups 15 days for one course of treatment.There would be two courses of treatment and two days for rest between each treatment.Take notes on the changes of PSQI,KI,QLI and 5-HT happened on the patients before and after treatment;evaluate the curative effects when the treatment is finished.All the statistic data are analyzed by SPASS20.0.Results 1.PSQI result:comparing the PSQI result before and after the treatment of the two groups,there are significant differences between two groups(P<0.05);comparing the PSQI before and after the treatment,there are significant differences on time to fall asleep,sleep efficiency,daytime function and overall score(P<0.05);for the rest evaluation items:sleep quality,sleeping time and sleep disorders,no significant differences(P>0.05).2.KI result:comparing the KI result before and after the treatment of the two groups,there are significant differences(P<0.05);the KI result after the treatment of the two groups shows no significant differences(P>0.05).3.QLI result:comparing the QLI result before and after the treatment of the two groups reveals significant differences(P<0.05);the QLI result after the treatment of the two groups indicates significant differences(P<0.05).4.5-HT result:comparing the 5-HT result before and after the treatment of the two groups shows significant differences(P<0.05);the 5-HT result after the treatment of the two groups also reveals significant differences(P<0.05).5.Comparison of clinical effects:the total effective rate for superficial needling group is 85.71%,while traditional Chinese medicine group is 75.86%.It shows significant differences between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions 1.Both superficial needling and Danzhi Xiaoyao pills can improve the sleeping quality,life quality of the liver-fire type of menopause insomnia patients and relieve the symptoms happened during climacteric.Besides,the superficial needling can better improve the sleeping quality and life quality than Danzhi Xiaoyao pills.2.Both superficial needling and Danzhi Xiaoyao pills can increase the 5-HT content of the patients and superficial needling has better effect than Danzhi Xiaoyao pills.3.Superficial needling has more advantages than Danzhi Xiaoyao pills on curing the liver-fire type of menopause insomnia patients.It may relate to the fact that superficial needling can increase the 5-HT content.
