Objectives:To explore the correlation between platelet to lymphocyte ratio, mean platelet volume, serum S100A12 levels and the severity of psoriasis vulgaris, and to discuss the application value of platelet to lymphocyte ratio, mean platelet volume, serum S100A12 levels in psoriasis vulgaris. Methods:A total of 50 patients with psoriasis vulgaris who were treated in outpatient clinics and admitted to Hainan provincial hospital of skin disease with accurate diagnosis and inclusion and exclusion criteria from January 2016 to December 2016 were as case group, and the psoriasis severity index(PASI)score was performed by the same doctor.According to the PASI score, the patients were divided into mild group(PASI<10)and moderate-severe group(PASI?10).At the same time,a total of 50 cases of healthy people of the Department of Cosmetology and Derma-surgery in Hainan provincial hospital of skin disease were randomly selected as control group. The case questionnaire was used to record the epidemiological information. The enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)was used to measure the level of S100A12 in peripheral blood serum. The mean platelet volume, lymphocyte count and platelet count in peripheral blood were measured by automatic blood cell analyzer. The experimental data were analyzed by SPSS17.0 software, when P<0.05,the difference was statistically significant.Results:1.Clinical features: In psoriasis vulgaris patients, the average of the fist onset age was(41.73±15.86)years old;the mean course of disease was(8.05±8.63)years;the ratio of male to female was 31:19;the initial site was most common in the scalp, followed by the trunk;4% patients had family history;the most common precipitating or aggravating factors was seasons, followed by mental factors;the most common form of skin lesions was plaque type.2.Platelet to lymphocyte ratio(PLR)levels and relevance to PASI: The PLR in peripheral blood of the case group was higher than that in the healthy control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).The PLR was positively correlated with PASI score(r=0.338,P<0.05).3.Mean platelet volume levels and relevance to PASI: The platelet volume in the case group was higher than that in the healthy group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Platelet volume was positively correlated with PASI score(r=0.369,P<0.05).4.Serum S100A12 levels and relevance to PASI: The serum S100A12 levels in the case group was higher than that in the healthy group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the serum S100A12 levels in moderate-severe group was significantly higher than that in mild group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);S100A12 was positively correlated with PASI score(r=0.436,P<0.05).Conclusions:The levels of S100A12 and MPV in psoriasis patients were significantly higher than those in healthy control group, the PLR,platelet volume and serum S100A12 levels were positively correlated with PASI score of the severity of psoriasis vulgaris.MPV,S100A12,and PLR might be the indicators of the severity of psoriasis, and S100A12 might be involved in the pathogenesis and development of psoriasis.
