Objective:The aim of this study was to compare the effect of iopamidol and lead oxide contrast agent in 3D reconstruction of isolated placental vessels and to determine whether the contrast agents were suitable for angiography of different branch vessels. The specific method on measuring correlation value of placental vessels by the technique for three-dimensional reconstruction of placental vessels would be confirmed, which proves that this method could be used as a quantitative method for study on placental vessels.Methods:1.Twenty cases of normal human placentas which donated from puerperas without complications during pregnancy in obstetrics of the Second Hospital of Anhui Medical University from December,2015 to February,2016 were randomly divided into two groups: isolated placenta group(n = 10)and lead oxide group(n = 10).2.When obtained placentas,we used heparin solution to rinse the isolated placental blood vessels immediately as spare materials. The lead oxide contrast agent was mixed with the self-curing denture material, and then the arterial and venous perfusion of the placenta from the umbilical veins were respectively performed. After the angiography contrast agent was fully solidified, the enhanced CT scan was performed. The volume reproduction were reconstructed on the GE adw4.4 workstation for dimensional digital model of placental arteries and veins. The three-dimensional images of isolated placental vessels were preserved.3.The measured data were obtained when the placental volume, vascular volume and vascular diameter were measured on the workstation. The three-dimensional images of the isolated placental blood vessels were obtained and the related values were measured with the law.4.we compared the development results of the two groups of placental vascular three-dimensional reconstruction, then compared the two groups of isolated placental volume, vascular volume and the grade of vascular diameter by using independent t test analysis between groups. The same group of isolated placental vascular were compared between the levels of vascular branch diameter by using one-way analysis of variance within the group.Results:1.There was no significant difference in the placental volume and vascular volume between the iodophor group and lead oxide group(P> 0.05).2.There was statistical difference(P <0.05)that primary and secondary vessel diameters of the lead oxide group(11.3 ± 2.06 mm,9.8 ± 0.98mm)were significantly higher than those in the iopamidol group(9.4 ± 1.17 mm,7.7 ± 0.53mm).3.There was statistical difference(P<0.05)that three and four vascular diameters of the iopamidol group(6.2 ± 0.74 mm,5.1± 0.69mm)were significantly higher than those in the lead oxide group(4.4 ± 0.52 mm,3.5 ± 0.42mm).4.There was significant difference(P <0.05)in the diameter of blood vessels between the primary and secondary vessels, the secondary vessels and the three-vessels,the three-vessels and four-vessels in the iopamidol group.5.There was also significant difference(P <0.05)in the diameter of blood vessels between the primary and secondary vessels, the secondary vessels and the three-vessels,the three-vessels and four-vessels in the lead oxide group.6.In the three-dimensional reconstruction of the placental vascular images in the iopamidol group,in spite of placental primary and secondary vasculatures were sparse, the third and fourth vessels perfused completely, developed evenly, and there were no obvious artifacts around the vessels, microvascular and placental lobular developed clearly.Placenta of lead oxide group in the primary and secondary vascular were fullness,peri-vascular artifacts less and three-dimensional sense of strong. While three and four vascular vasculature were blurred, perivascular artifacts, microvascular and placental lobular developed sparsely..Conclusion:1.Iopamidol contrast agent is suitable for the three-vessels and four-vessels in vitro placental angiography of diameter from 4.41 mm to 6.94 mm.Lead oxide contrast agent is suitable for the primary and secondary vessels in vitro placental angiography of diameter from 8.82 mm to 13.36 mm.2.The diameter of the branches of the placenta was decreased step by step, the diameter of the first vessel was the largest and the diameter of the four-vessels was the smallest.3.Quantitative measurement of three-dimensional reconstruction of isolated placental vessels can be used as a quantitative method for the quantification of isolated placental vessels.
