Objective This study aiming to describe on current situation about supportive care needs and quality of life with breast cancer women at four time points in their journey; To explore the changes in supportive care needs and quality of life across time;To understand the correlation between supportive care needs and quality of life over time;To provide a reference about how to do the personalized nursing intervention of breast cancer patients in different periods. Methods This was an observational investigation. From September 2015 to November 2016,we selected 94 patients in the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University who diagnosed with breast cancer and did radical mastectomy and chemotherapy in this hospital. We started longitudinal investigation for 94 patients among 6 months. We used a self-designed questionnaire about Social demographic and disease information,Supportive Care Need Survey Short-Form(SCNS-SF34),Quality of life(FACT-B,V4.0)to collect the data of the patients. We did the assessment for 4 times, they were preoperative(T1),postoperative(T2),4 to 6 weeks after operation when patients start their first chemotherapy(T3),3 to 6 months after operation when patients take their final chemotherapy(T4).We collected data and input them into SPSS 19.0,then we used Repeated Measurement and Pearson Correlation to analysis the data. Results 1.There was a dynamic change of supportive care needs for the breast cancer patients at different time points Follow-up the patient who was confirmed as breast cancer for the first time, thescores of their supportive care needs in the preoperative, postoperative, the beginning and end of chemotherapy showed that, patient's physiology and the daily life needs and care and support needs were rose from preoperative to postoperative, and they went down at the end chemotherapy;the psychological needs and sexual needs showed a trend of rising, falling and then increasing;the Health information needs were decreased as a whole. The collected data were analyzed by Repeated Measurement analysis of variance, the scores of physical and daily life needs, patient care support needs, and health information needs had a significant differences at 4 times(P < 0.05).2.There was a dynamic change of QOL for the breast cancer patients at different time points Follow-up the patient who was confirmed as breast cancer for the first time, the scores of their Quality of Life in the preoperative, postoperative, the beginning and end of chemotherapy showed that, patient's physiology situation, emotion situation, additional attention were decreased from preoperative to postoperative, and they rose at the end chemotherapy;the scores of Functional status were decreased from preoperative to the beginning of chemotherapy, and they were rose at the end of chemotherapy;the scores of Social/family situation showed a trend of rise, fall and then increased. The collected data were analyzed by Repeated Measurement analysis of variance, the scores of the quality of life and each dimension had a significant differences at 4 times(P < 0.05).3.We did Pearson Correlation analysis,it showed that most of the supportive care needs survey questionnaire scores were negatively correlated with QOL at different time points. Conclusion 1.There were much supportive care needs of breast cancer patients, and it showed dynamic changes at different time points, the nurse needed to do scientific evaluation and effective intervention to satisfied them;2.There was a significant difference between quality of life at different time points,we should combine patient's conditions and do a personality care;3.Most of the supportive care needs were negatively correlated with QOL at different time points. It meant that the more unsatisfied needs the patient had,the worse QOL of she had.
