The Clinical Study Of Erling Yiren Decoction Combined With XELOX Chemotherapy In Treating Postoperative Colorectal Cancer Patients With Spleen Deficiency And Damp Heat Syndrome

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of Erling Yiren Decoction in treating postoperative colorectal cancer patients with spleen deficiency and damp heat syndrome and to explore its possible treatmental mechanism.Methods:According to the diagnostic standards of western medicine and TCM syndrome differentiation standards,forty patients with colorectal adenocarcinoma were randomly divided into treatment group(traditional Chinese medicine&chemotherapy)and the control group(chemotherapy alone),each group with 20 cases respectively.Both groups were treated with XELOX chemotherapy regimen.The treatment group was treated with Erling Yiren Decoction beside chemotherapy.Taking 3 weeks as a treatmental cycle,patients are observed for four cycles.The changes of clinical symptoms,physical signs,life quality,cellular immune function and serum tumor markers and other adverse events were observed before and after treatment,and statistical analysis was taken.1.Results:1.The effect on TCM symptoms:After treatment,the total score of TCM symptoms in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Comparison of treatment group before and after treatment,the scores of "poor appetite","dry-bitter mouth","abdominal pain","Insomnia and dreams-disturbed sleep","pale complexion"," heaviness sensation"," weight loss" were significantly differenct(P<0.05);but there was no significant difference of "abdominal distention","fatigue","shortness of breath","constipation","loose stool "(P>0.05).After treatment,The symptoms of"abdominal pain",loose stool","weight loss" in control group compared with before treatment,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the treatment group on the"poor appetite "," dry-bitter mouth"," heaviness sensation" symptoms improved significantly,compared with the control group was statistically significant(P<0.05).2.Scores of Life Quality:About KPS score,after treatment,the KPS score in the treatment group was significantly higher than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the treatment group,there were statistically significant differences between before and after treatment(P<0.05),but in the control group was no significant(P>0.05).About quality of life scores,after treatment,the scores of the treatment group in the physical status,social family status,emotional status,functional status,additional status were significantly higher than the control group,a high statistical difference(P<0.05).In the treatment group,the scores after treatment were significantly higher than those before treatment(P<0.05).The score of emotional status after treatment in the control group were significantly higher than that before treatment(P<0.05),but the others were no significant(P>0.05).3.The effects on cellular immune function:After treatment,the levels of CD3,CD4,CD4/CD8 in the treatment group were higher than those before,CD8 lower than before,but in the control group,CD3,CD4,CD4/CD8 were lower than those before,CD8 higher than before,The immune function of the treatment group was improved and the immune function of the control group was decreased.There were significant differences in the immunological indexes between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).4.The effect on serum tumor markers:There were no significant differences in CEA and CA199 between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).5.On the adverse effects of chemotherapy:After treatment,there was no significant difference between the two groups of bone marrow suppression,liver and kidney dysfunction,and neurotoxicity(P<0.05),There was significant difference between the two groups in the treatment of nausea and vomiting and diarrhea(P<0.05).Conclusion:Erling Yiren Decoction has the function of relieving patients' clinical symptoms and physical signs,elevating life quality and cellular immune function in treating postoperative colorectal cancer patients with spleen deficiency and damp heat syndrome combined with chemotherapy,can reduce the gastrointestinal side effects caused by the chemotherapy,but has no effect on serum tumor markers,bone marrow suppression,liver and kidney dysfunction and neurotoxicity.
