Objective: To investigate the surgery treatment of lateral ventricular meningiomas. Methods: It is reported 17 cases of lateral ventricular meningiomas from our neurosurgery department from Jan.2012 to Apr.2016.Results:17patients underwent surgery.15 patients were treated via transcortical approach and 2 patient was treated via trans-sulcal approach.Pathological examination confirmed 4 cases of fibrous meningiomas,3 cases of epithelial meningioma,2 cases of transitional(mixed)meningiomas,4 cases of anaplastic meningiomas,4 cases of meningothelial meningiomas.Postoperative MRI showed complete tumor resection, there is no patient die during the surgery.Postoperative intracranial infection happened in 2 cases, who recovered after anti-infection treatment.obstructive hydrocephalus happened in 1 cases, who recovered without any treatment.Epilepsy happened in 1 case. The patients improved well with a follow-up period of 1months to 12 months(an average of 6 months),with no recurrences.KPS score were greater than 80 points in 17 patients. Conclusion: The pre-operative CT,MRI examination are the most effective ways to diagnose lateral ventricle meningiomas.Choosing the most appropriate surgical approach according to tumor size and location can resect the tumor completely and improve the effect of surgical treatment. |
