Objective: To understand the role of the interleukin 23 receptor(IL-23R)in pathogenesis and progression of bladder cancer,we investigated the expression of IL-23 R in the bladder cancer and analyzed its correlation with medical case, pathological grading and clinical stages in patients with bladder cancer. Methods: We collected 48 cases of bladder cancer tissues,15 cases of adjacent tissues specimens and 25 cases of normal bladder tissues.real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)was adopted to investigate the IL-23 R mRNA expression level in the three groups and the gender, age, the size of tumor, pathological grading and clinical stages of the patients with bladder cancer were analyzed based on the result of real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR).Results: The IL-23 R mRNA expressed in bladder cancer tissues, adjacent tissues and normal bladder tissues. The relative amount of IL-23 R mRNA expression(1.265±0.097)in bladder cancer tissue was higher than adjacent tissues(0.976±0.069),the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(p=0.000<0.01).The relative amount of IL-23 R mRNA expression(1.265±0.097)in bladder cancer tissue was higher than normal bladder tissues(1.029±0.066),the difference of IL-23 R mRNA relative expression level between the two groups was statistically significant(p=0.000<0.01).There was not significant statistical difference(p=0.224>0.05)of IL-23 R mRNA relative expression level betweenadjacent tissues and normal bladder tissues. It was not significant different(p=0.516>0.05)on the IL-23 R relative expression level between low-grade bladder cancer(1.250±0.097)and high-grade bladder cancer(1.262±0.140).Compared the relative expression level of IL-23 R mRNA in non-muscular-invasion bladder cancer(1.245±0.108)with that in muscular-invasion bladder cancer(1.266±0.103),the difference between the groups was not statistically significantit(p=0.497>0.05).There were not significant statistical difference(p>0.05)of IL-23 R mRNA relative expression level between the gender, age, the size of tumor. Conclusion: 1.IL-23 R mRNA expressed in the bladder cancer tissue, adjacent tissues and normal bladder tissues;IL-23 R mRNA relative expression level in bladder cancer tissue was higher than that in normal bladder tissue and adjacent tissues.2.The expression level of IL-23 R in bladder cancer may not be associated with the pathological grading and clinical staging of bladder cancer.3.IL23 R may be involved in the occurrence and progression of bladder cancer.
