Objective: To investigate the characteristics of posttraumatic growth(PTG)in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapy, and affect of general self-efficacy,depression,coping style and social support for the Posttraumatic growth.Explore the effect of psychological intervention on Posttraumatic growth of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapy. For nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients provide evidence for setting out efficient intervention measures. Methods: From August 2015 to November 2015,A total of 158 nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapy were investigated using Chinese-Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(C-PTGI),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire(MCMQ)and Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS).This research adopts the semi-random design. From December2015 to May 2016,105 patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma in radiotherapy department of the first affiliated hospital of Guangxi Medical University wereselected to be samples. They were semi-randomly divided into two groups,52 cases as control group in the first ward,53 cases as intervention group in the second ward.Patients in the intervention group were received routine care and psychology intervention measures.Patients in the control group were given the Radiotherapy Department of nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients with routine care. The outcome of,Posttraumatic growth was evaluated using Chinese-Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(C-PTGI)in before and after intervention,to analysis the effectiveness of intervention.Results:1.The current status of posttraumatic growth in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapyThe average score of Posttraumatic growth of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma was(58.40±9.51),showing medium posttraumatic growth level. The dimension score from high to low order is relating to others(3.24±0.52),new possibilities(2.90±0.68),life feeling(2.90±0.45),personal strength(2.85±0.54),and self-transformation(2.78±0.55).2.The impact factors of posttraumatic growth in nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapy(1)There were significant differences in the total score of PTG between distinct marital status, family per capita income per mouth, mode of medical care provider payment, the course of the disease, pathological stage, number of radiotherapy and chemotherapy regimens(P<0.05).(2)There were significant differences in the total score of PTG and each dimension between distinct self-efficacy,depression and coping style(P<0.05).(3)The total score of PTG and each dimension were significant positively correlated with self-efficacy,facing,avoidance,perceived social support, supportfrom family and support out of family(P<0.01);negatively correlated with depression and yield(P<0.01).(4)Multiple regression analysis showed that marital status,self-efficacy,depression,facing,yield and support out of family were impact factors of PTGI,which explained 80.8% of the variance.3.The effect of psychological intervention on Posttraumatic growth(1)Before the psychological intervention compared two groups of patients’ age, gender, marital status, degree of education and other general data showed there was no statistically significant difference(P>0.05);(2)Before the psychological intervention, there were no statistically significant difference in two groups of patients with posttraumatic growth total score and each dimension score(P>0.05);(3)After the psychological intervention, intervention group patients with posttraumatic growth total score and each dimension score significantly higher than the control group, and the difference has statistically significant(P<0.01);(4)After the psychological intervention, two groups of patients’ the total score of posttraumatic growth and each dimension score significantly higher than before the intervention, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion:1.Patients with Nasopharyngeal carcinoma could experience positive change and obtain posttraumatic growth during fighting against cancer.Nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients show medium Posttraumatic Growth level.2.The influencal factors of PTG include self-efficacy,depression emotion, coping style and social support,et al.3.The psychological intervention can improve and promote posttraumatic growth in Nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients receiving radiotherapy, whichprovides a new idea to clinical nursing.
