Objective: Recent studies have found that cells within the endoglycosidase - enzyme heparan sulfate (Heparanase, HPA) by promoting smooth muscle cell proliferation and participation in the formation of atherosclerosis. Syndecan-1 (SDC-1) belongs to the integrin adhesion molecules across the membrane adhesion proteoglycans family members, between the cell mass transfer, tumorigenesis and microbial infection, triglyceride removal, the inflammatory process plays a important role, and is involved in a number of aspects of the inflammatory response, and atherosclerosis closely. This study through the detection of serum of patients with coronary artery disease in HPA and sdc-1 level and analysis the correlation and the severity of coronary artery lesions, to explore its role in coronary heart disease (CHD) and in the judgement of coronary heart disease and prognosis in the clinical significance of.Methods:A total of 61 consecutive patients with coronary heart disease diagnosed by coronary angiography were enrolled, divided into SA group ,UA group and AMI group, and according to angiography findings, further divided into single branch lesion group, double branch lesion group, multi branch lesion group and mild vessel stenosis group, moderate vessel stenosis group and severe vessel stenosis group. 15 healthy persons without coronary heart disease were chosen as the control group ( NC group). The levels of HPA and SDC-1 in serum were determined by using the sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results: (1) : The levels of HPA in serum of AMI group?UA group.SA group were significantly higher than that of NC group(60.5± 11.9ng/ml vs 58.1 ± 13.9ng/ml vs 47.8±16.9ng/ml vs 29.59±5.08ng/ml),AMI group?UA group compared with SA group(60.5±11.9ng/ml vs 47.8±16.9ng/ml, 58.1±13.9ng/ml vs 47.8±16.9ng/ml) and AMI group compared with UA group (60.5±11.9ng/ml vs 58.1±13.9ng/ml) were all higher , (P < 0.05).(2) The levels of SDC-1 in serum of AMI group?UA group? SA group were significantly higher than that of NC group (6.36± 1.17ng/ml vs 6.68± 1.67ng/ml vs5.40± 1.86ng/ml vs 1.57±0.52ng/ml) , AMI group and UA group compared with SA group (6.36±1.17ng/ml vs 5.40± 1.86ng/ml,6.68±1.67ng/ml vs 5.40±1.86ng/ml)were higher,(P < 0.05).(3) the degree of vascular lesion related Analysis, serum levels of HPA double vessel lesions group and multi branch lesion group than in the control group significantly increased (58.1±14.0ng/ml vs 29.59 ±5.08ng/ml,60.3 ±11.9 ng/ml vs 29.59 ±5.08ng/ml, P< 0.05); SDC-1 level multi vessel disease group than in other groups significantly increased (2.23±0.48ng/ml vs 1.87 ±0.46ng/ml,2.23 ±0.48ng/ml vs 1.56±0.45ng/ml,2.23±0.48ng/ml vs 1.57±0.52ng/ml P < 0.05); in mild stenosis group, moderate stenosis, severe stenosis group,HPA and SDC-1 were increased (42.6±9.8ng/ml vs 56.8±8.4ng/ml vs 63.6±10.2ng/ml; 1.47±0.4ng/ml vs 1.91±0.51ng/ml vs 2.43 ± 0.55ng/ml) and between groups comparison difference has statistical significance (P < 0.05).Conclusions:This study shows that SDC-1 and HPA are closely related to the occurrence and development of coronary heart disease. It is expected to be an important factor to judge the severity of coronary heart disease, and it is helpful to provide a new idea for the treatment of atherosclerotic disease.
