Background and Objective: Retinal branch arterial obstruction and traumatic optic neuropathy,both of them,are ophthalmologic emergencies.Retinal branch artery occlusion which is seldom seen in clinical work,often occurs in the elderly over 60 years old,most factors are atherosclerosis,emboli embolism,arterial spasm and inflammatory response.Traumatic optic neuropathy are most caused by head and face trauma,due to direct or indirect damage.It is very rare that trauma leading to retinal branch artery occlusion combined with traumatic optic neuropathy in clinical work and literature.The article shares a special case of retinal branch artery occlusion combined with traumatic optic neuropathy in a child.The aim is to explore the pathogenesis,diagnostic criteria,clinical features and treatments of the disease,and provide valuable reference opinions for the future diagnosis and treatment to the same diseases.Methods: Report a case of retinal branch arterial obstruction combined with traumatic optic neuropathy.Retrospective analyze the patient's clinical information,and access to the relevant literature for comprehensive analysis and discussion.Conclusion: Trauma can be an independent risk factor for retinal branch arterial obstruction.According to the patient's symptoms,signs,fundus fluorescein angiography,the diagnose is not difficult.Retinal branch artery occlusion combined with traumatic optic neuropathy is rare,which is a great threat to vision.Early diagnosis and active treatments,which are great significance for saving the patients' vision and improving visual function.
