Objective:To retrospectively analyze the effects of surgical castration and drug castration on the quality of life of patients with advanced prostate cancer.Methods:125 patients with advanced prostate cancer treated in our hospital from January 2014 to March 2016 were included and divided into the surgical castration group and medical castration group according to the different treatment methods,including 59 cases with suigical castration and 66 cases with medical castration.The quality of life of patients before treatment,6 months after treatment and 1 year after treatment were evaluated by using the Quality of Life Scale for Cancer Patients and the Quality of Life Scale for Patients with Prostate Cancer.Results: Compared with previous treatment,the overall health status of the patients in the surgical castration group and the medical castration group significantly improved,the symptoms of urination improved and the pain symptoms relieved.The postoperative financial burden reduced in the surgical castration group,the physical function,the role function,the social function and the emotional function decreased,the symptoms of fatigue increased,the symptoms such as breast pain,flushing and other symptoms appeared,sexual life is lost.In the medical castration group,the economic burden of the patients increased after 6 months of treatment,and the physical function,the role function,the social function and the emotional function decreased.However,after 1 year of treatment,the economic burden of the patients reduced,the role,society and emotional function recovered,breast tenderness,flushing and other treatment-related symptoms in the treatment after 6 months significantly increased,but after 1 year of treatment significantly reduced.Sexuality,sexual life after 6 months of treatment significantly reduced or even lost,but got to a certain degree of recovery after a year of treatment.Conclusion: Both castration methods have different degrees of impact on patients with prostate cancer.The effect of surgical castration on the quality of life of patients is irreversible,especially for sexual function,while the effect of drug castration on patients' partial quality of life is reversible.
