| Objectives To explore the effect of ADOPT intervention on Self-perceptions of aging and health related behaviors in elderly with housebound,and to provide basis for medical staff in community developing effective intervention.Methods Stratified cluster random sampling method was used to select randomly Fuxing District from 3 districts of Handan City,Hebei Province,and to draw randomly a community from 65 communities of Fuxing District which is Jianan community from October in 2015 to October in 2016.There were 211 cases of the elderly with housebound who were randomly divided into two groups with 105 cases in intervention group and 106 cases in control group.According to the five steps of ADOPT methods,which include Attitude,Definition,Open mind,Planning and Try it out,a 6-month intervention was conducted to the intervention group.The control group was the blank control.The effect of the two groups of the elderly with housebound after intervention was evaluated,and the self-perception of aging and health related behaviors which include behaviors,psychological,family function and social support were observed respectively.And conduct statistical analysis using SPSS17.0.Results Before intervention,the difference was not significant in the general situation between the two groups(P>0.05).After intervention,1 Comparison of self-perceived aging between the two groups of the elderly with housebound: After three months and six months intervention,the scores of the positive self-perceived aging were higher and the scores of the negative self-perceived aging were lower in the intervention group than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).2 Comparison of the status of the behaviors between the two groups of the elderly with housebound: After three months and six months intervention,the scores of health behavior and pulmonary function indexes(FEV1,FEV1/FVC)were higher in the intervention group than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).3 Comparison of psychological health status between the two groups of the elderly with housebound: After three months and six months intervention,Comparing with the control group,the intervention group was better in health self assessment and depression,and the difference was significant(P<0.05).4 Comparison of the family and social support status between the two groups of the elderly with housebound: after intervention,the scores of social support and its dimensions in the intervention group were better than those in the control group and the the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).But there was no significant improvement in the family function in the intervention group compared with the control group,and the differencewas not significant(P>0.05).Conclusions 1 The effect of ADOPT intervention was obvious on self-perceived aging of the elderly with housebound,which could raise the positive self perceptions of aging and reduce the negative self perceptions of aging.2 ADOPT intervention could improve the status of the health related behaviors which include behaviors,psychological and social support of the elderly with housebound in different degrees. |
