Objective: To realize the relationship between betatrophin and polycystic ovary syndrome and investigate the pathogenesis of polycystic ovary syndrome with glucose and lipid metabolism disorder and provide evidence for the diagnosis and treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome, through measuring the levels of betatrophin in serum of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome and studying of the relationship between betatrophin and reproductive endocrine hormones, glucose and lipid metabolism disorders in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome.Method:1 The patients of Department of Reproductive Medicine in the first hospital from March 2016 to December 2016 were divided into control group and experimental group, their age from 20 to 40.The patients did not use any drugs that affect the levels of hormones and glycolipids after 3 months, without any endocrine or metabolic diseases. The patients in the experimental group met the requirements of the 2003 Rotterdam meeting on the diagnosis of female PCOS,and the control group was non PCOS patients, each with 20 cases. The height, weight, waist and hip circumference of the patients in both of control group and experimental group were measured. The levels of sex hormones and AMH were determined and the vaginal ultrasonography was performed by the same doctor. For the patients in experimental group, the levels of androstenedione(DHEA),sex hormone binding globulin(SHBG)were also determined and 75 g glucose tolerance test, insulin release test and biochemical total term were made.In addition, peripheral venous blood was collected and placed it to-20 refrigerator in stock. The level of ?betatrophin in serum was measured by ELISA method with betatrophin ELISA kit.2 The clinical data and indicators of the measured values of all subjects were recorded in the excel table, and spss21.0 was applied to statistical analysis the data.Result:1 Compared with the control group, the height, age and weight indicators of PCOS patients were no significant difference(P>0.05).2 In the reproductive endocrine indicators, the levels of serum anti-mullerian hormone, luteinizing hormone and total testosterone in PCOS patients were significantly higher than controls(P<0.01).The level of androstenedione was significantly increased, but the level if sex hormone binding globulin was in the low value of normal range.PCOS patients showed more severe glycolipid metabolic disorders.3 The level of betatrophin in PCOS group was significantly higher than that in healthy control group(P<0.05);In PCOS group, the level of betatrophin was higher in the PCOS patients with overweight or obese than in the normal weight group, higher in the PCOS patients with fat central distribution than that in the fat non central distribution group, higher in the PCOS patients with hyperandrogenic group than that in the non-hyperandrogenic group, higher in the PCOS patients with insulin resistance group than that in non-insulin resistance group, higher in the PCOS patients with abnormal lipid metabolism group than that normal lipid metabolism group(P<0.05).4 There was a positive correlation between betatrophin and body mass index(BMI)of PCOS patients(P < 0.05);another positive correlation with luteinizing hormone(LH)and luteinizing hormone/follicle stimulating hormone(LH / FSH),androstenedione, free testosterone index(FTI);and there was a negative correlation between sex hormone and globulin and betatrophin(P<0.05).Conclusions:1 The level of betatrophin in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome was significantly increased.2 Different types of polycystic ovary syndrome have different levels of serum betatrophin. With the increase of body weight, the level of serum betatrophin was increased. The levels of betatrophin in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome accompanied by hyperandrogenism and dyslipidemia were significantly increased.3 Betatrophin is expected to be a monitoring indicator of polycystic ovary syndrome.
