Objective: To evaluate the prognostic factors for epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)so as to provide scientific basis for further reasonable therapy. Methods: In this research,a retrospective analysis was used to study the clinical and follow-up data of 267 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer, who were treated from January 1,2009 to July 1,2011 in the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University. In this study, factors included age at diagnosis, age at menarche, menopause status, age at menopause, gravidity, parity, tubal ligation, family history of cancer, presence of endometriosis, pretreatment CA125 level,CA125 level after 3 cycles of chemotherapy,neutrophil-tolymphocyte ratio(NLR),lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio(LMR),ascites, celiac cytology examination, tumour location and diameter, lymphadenectomy, lymph nodes metastasis, residual disease, histology, tumor grade,FIGO stage, chemotherapy regimens and cycles were analysed.Receiver operating characteristic curve(ROC)was employed to analyze the optimum cut-off value of the preoperative NLR and LMR.Kaplan-Meier method was used for survival analysis,Cox hazard-ratio model was used to determine factors influencing the prognosis of EOC.Results:1 Till the day of July 1,2016,125 of the 267 cases died from EOC.The 3-year and 5-year overall survival rates were 70.2% and 50.6%,respectively.168 of the 267 cases relapsed. The 3-year and 5-year progression-free survival rates were 45.6% and 34.3%,respectively.2 Univariate analysis showed that factors affecting the overall survival rate were age at diagnosis, age at menarche, menopause status, pretreatment CA125 level,CA125 level after 3 cycles of chemotherapy,NLR,LMR,abcence of ascites, celiac cytology examination, tumour location, lymphadenectomy, lymph nodes metastasis, residual disease, histology, tumor grade,FIGO stage and chemotherapy cycle(P<0.05).Univariate analysis also showed that factors affecting the progression-free survival rate were age at diagnosis, age at menarche, family history of cancer, pretreatment CA125 level,CA125 level after 3 cycles of chemotherapy,NLR,LMR,abcence of ascites, celiac cytology examination, tumour location, tumor diameter, lymphadenectomy, lymph nodes metastasis, residual disease, histology, tumor grade,FIGO stage and chemotherapy cycle(P<0.05).3 The Cox regression analysis indicated that factors such as CA125 level after 3 cycles of chemotherapy, tumour location, histology, tumor grade,FIGO stage were independent overall survival factors(P<0.05).This analysis(Cox regression analysis)also demonstrated that factors like pretreatment CA125 level,CA125 level after 3 cycles of chemotherapy,NLR,tumour location, histology, tumor grade,FIGO stage were independent progression-free survival factors(P<0.05).Conclusions: CA125 level after 3 cycles of chemotherapy, tumour location, histology, tumor grade,FIGO stage were independent overall and progression-free survival factors.Pretreatment CA125 level,NLR were independent progression-free survival factors.
