Objectives To investigate the incidence of sleep disorder and poor outcome and identify the relevant factors for sleep disorders in patients with Non-disabling Ischemic Cerebrovascular Events 90 days after onset in Qinghai. Methods The consecutive patients with NICE in Qinghai admitted to hospital within 7days after onset were enrolled prospectively and followed for 90 days face to face.Poor outcome was accessed by modified Rankin Scale.Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Epworth Sleepiness Scale was used to evaluate the sleep problem. The sleep disorder in patients with NICE was defined as PSQI scores what were more than 11.Multivariate logistic regression were used to identify the risk factors for the sleep disorder in patients with NICE.Results A total of 132 patients were recruited.42 patients(31.8%)had poor outcomes.According to the results of follow-up,the proportion of sleep disorder and excessive daytime sleepiness were 45.5% and 31.8%.In multivariate logistic regression,Obesity(OR 4.550,95%CI 2.374~11.451,P=0.009),poor outcome(OR 8.545,95%CI,1.869~49.978,P =0.002),excessive daytime sleepiness(OR 1.129,95%CI,1.069~2.978,P =0.048),posterior circulation stroke(OR 1.223,95%CI,1.029~3.547,P =0.042),High altitude residence(OR 1.345,95%CI,1.063~4.978,P =0.039),high altitude polycythemia(OR 2.374,95%CI,1.679~5.263,P =0.023)were the important predictors of sleep disorder in patients with NICE.45 high altitude cases were analyzed further.Among them, the incidence of sleep disorder in high altitude patients with hyperviscosity were higher than non-hyperviscosity patients(?~2=8.091,P =0.004);the incidence of sleep disorder in high altitude patients with HAPC were higher than non-HAPC patients(?~2=3.943,p=0.047).Conclusions 31.8% of patients with NICE have poor outcomes.According to the results of follow-up,the proportion of sleep disorder and excessive daytime sleepiness respectively are 45.5% and 31.8%.High altitude residence and high altitude polycythemia are independently related with sleep disorders of NICE patients in Qinghai.
