ObjectiveTo investigate the status of posttraumatic growth and its influencing factors in patients with primary liver cancer and provide a theoretical basis for psychological nursing intervention.MethodsThis study adopted convenience sampling,138 cases of primary liver cancer patients from Department of Infectious Diseases, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University by inclusion and exclusion criteria as the research objects. They were tested with the general demographic information questionnaire,China-Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(C-PTGI),Distress Thermometer(DT),and Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS).All data were analyzed by SPSS19.0.Results1.The patients scored(57.62±12.49)on C-PTGI,single item scores of five dimensions were: appreciation of life(20.20±4.92),relating to others(9.01±2.19),personal strength(8.36±2.69),new possibilities(9.76±2.55)and self-transformation(3.57±0.66).2.The scores of DT were(6.38±1.63).3.The scores of PSSS were(60.50±9.35),single item scores of three dimensions were: family support(22.90±3.58),friends support(19.45±3.98),and other support(18.15±4.29).4.The univariate analysis showed that residence, marital status, education level, career, monthly average household, medical insurance, major caregivers, the course of primary liver cancer, tumor metastasis, therapeutic method, other chronic diseases, family history of cancer, liver function of Child-Pugh were related to PTG level(P<0.05).5.The correlation analysis showed that the score of C-PTGI was negatively correlated with the score of Distress Thermometer(r=-0.289,P=0.001),positively correlated with the score of Perceived Social Support Scale(r=0.412,P<0.001).6.After the multiple linear regression, social support, the course of primary liver cancer, education level entered the regression equation, all of them which could account for 25.3% of total variance.ConclusionThe development of posttraumatic growth was common in patients with primary liver cancer.Social support, the course of primary liver cancer, education level were the possible influencing factors of PTG.
