Objective:To explore the relationship and the correlation between intermedin(IMD)and renal interstitial capillary loss with the progress of IgA nephropathy(IgAN)patients.Methods:Renal biopsy specimens were collected from primary IgAN patients(n=80)and were compared with normal renal tissues.The immunohistochemical expression of IMD,CD31,VE-cadherin and the plasma concentrations of IMD and TGF-?1 collected from primary IgAN patients(n=37)included in the 80 cases were examined.The relationship between IMD and renal interstitial capillary loss in IgAN patients was analysised.Results:Expressions of IMD and VE-cadherin at renal tubularinterstitial were more than the control group at the mild clinical lesions stage of IgAN,CD31 expressed less than the control group(P<0.05).The expressions of IMD,CD31 and VE-cadherin at the moderate-severe clinical lesions stage of IgAN were gradually reducing(P<0.05),but only the expression of CD31 was obviously less than the normals(P<0.01),the expressions of IMD and VE-cadherin were not less than the normals(P>0.05).The expressions of IMD and VE-cadherin were more than the control group at the mild pathological lesions stage of IgAN(P<0.05).CD31 expressed at the mild pathological lesions stage of IgAN as much as it expressed at the control group(P>0.05).The expressions of IMD and VE-cadherin were not less than the control group(P>0.05),but CD31 was less than the control group(P<0.05)at the stage of moderate pathological lesions.At the stage of severe pathological lesions,IMD expressed less than the moderates(P<0.05),the expression of CD31 and VE-cadherin were not less than the moderates(P>0.05).Plasma concentrations of IMD and TGF-?1 were more than the controlgroup(P<0.01)at the mild clinical lesions stage of IgAN,and were correlated positively(r=0.58,P<0.01).Because of the lack of the plasma samples of IMD and TGF-?1 at the moderate-severe clinical lesions stage of IgAN,the statistical result did not represent real significance.Changes of IMD,CD31 and VE-cadherin at renal tubularinterstitial were correlated positively through correlation analysis and regression analysis.The relationships between CD31 and VE-cadherin(r=0.52,P<0.01),IMD and CD31(r=0.67,P<0.01)or IMD and VE-cadherin(r=0.58,P<0.01)correlated positively.Conclusion:Expression of IMD accelerates significantly at the early stage of IgAN patients.IMD and renal interstitial capillary loss are closely related in IgAN patients.Plasma concentrations of IMD and TGF-?1 are more than the control group with at the early stage of IgAN patients,and correlate closely.
