Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the application of virtual touch tissue imaging quantification(VTIQ)shear wave elastography in the hemodialysis patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.Methods: A total of 107 hemodialysis patients with chronic kidney disease as study group were divided into three equal groups: group A(i PTH ? 300pg/ml),group B(300pg/ml~800pg/ml),group C(i PTH?800pg/ml).Thirty volunteers enrolled as control group.Conventional B-mode and elasticity imaging were performed by two examiners in the four groups.Using the shear wave velocity(SWV)based technique,virtual touch tissue imaging quantification(VTIQ)to evaluate the elasticity of the parathyroid gland and comparing the changes of SWV between the four groups.The correlation and ROC curve analyses between the SWV and i PTH in reach group were analyzed.Results: When comparing the SWV,excepting the group A,there was a significant difference between the group B and group C and the control group(P=0.430;P=0.001;P=0.000).There was also a significant difference between each pair of research groups(P=0.005;P=0.000;P=0.000),SWV was positively correlated with PTH(r =0.680,P=0.000).i PTH value 300pg/ml and 800pg/ml as the diagnosis of SHPT and the cut-off point of operation.ROC analyses indicated that the area under the curve was 0.798,0.842(P=0.000).At SWV cut-off values of 2.260m/s and 2.720m/s.the sensitivity and specificity of SWV were 79.17%,80.00% and 77.14%?83.33%.Conclusions: VTIQ can evaluate the changes of the parathyroid gland noninvasively and quantitatively in patients with SHPT.Shear wave velocity values of 2.260m/s and2.720m/s respectively for SHPT diagnosis and surgical treatment of the reference point,provide the basis for evaluation of the diagnosis of parathyroid function,and then make a different clinical intervention,and has broad application prospect.
