Objective:To explore the value of two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging technology in quantitative analysis of left ventricular myocardial longitudinal layer-specific strain.Methods:Totally 82 selected subjects were divided into two groups according to the gender:male group(n=45),female group(n=37),According to the age group proposed by the World Health Organization,subjects are divided into two groups,middle-aged group(from45 to 59 years old,47 cases)and elderly group(from 60 to 74 years old,35 cases).All subjects were measured by Echo PAC BT13 workstation to analyze longitudinal peak systolic strain in epicardial,mid-myocardial and endocardial layer of left ventricular.Results:The absolute value of global longitudinal peak systolic strain(GLPS)increased layer by layer in epicardial,mid-myocardial and endocardial layer(P< 0.001).In each layer of myocardial,the absolute value of longitudinal peak systolic strain increased segment by segment in basal,papillary muscle and apical level(P<0.001).In case of basal segment,the absolute values of longitudinal peak systolic strain increased layer by layer in epicardial,mid-myocardial and endocardial layer(P<0.05).In the papillary muscle and apical level,the absolute values of longitudinal peak systolic strain increased layer by layer in epicardial,mid-myocardial and endocardial layer(P<0.001).Absolute values of GLPSof the three-layer myocardial in female group were higher than that in male group(P<0.001).No significant difference was found between the different ages of GLPS.Conclusions:Two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging technology can assess left ventricular layer-specific strain.The strain value can reflect the systolic capacity of myocardial in different segments.The absolute values of global longitudinal peak systolic strains of the three-layer myocardial in female group were significantly higher than those in male group.
