Objective Systematically collect,sort and summarize the historical origins and present situation,inheritance route,representatives,academic characteristics and clinical experience of Ruan’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion.Methods Take historical figures,representatives and inheritors of Ruan’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion as the object of research.Use oral history,social history,literature history and other research methods to collect relevant data,thus record the formation and development of Ruan’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion.Research the development status and academic breakthrough of Ruan’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion,summarize the transmission characteristics,and dig cultural characteristics and academic thinking.Results Read 6 books,16 journals and more than 100 literatures related.Record more than 100 clinical cases,and excerpt 15 classic cases from it;collect more than 100 pictures and choose 3 classical from it.Record the formation and development of Ruan’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion,summarize 6 academic characteristics.Conclusions The history of Ruan’s school of acupuncture and moxibustion can be traced back to the Qing Dynasty Qianlong period.Nine generations have been passed on,the transmission method is mainly based on family inheritance,while the education and international communication are secondary.School’s academic thinking and characteristics:①Integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine ②Combined with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine ③ Like using Ren and Du Meridians ④ Gold needle pricking point ⑤ Needle to distinguish Qi ⑥Attach importance to acupuncture manipulation.
