Stenoloma chusanum Ching is a plant of the Stenoloma in Lindsaeaceae.It is a folk herb used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat cancer,food poisoning and traumatic bleeding.Modern research shows that the S.chusanum contains flavonoids,phenols,volatile oil,steroids,polysaccharides and other components,these components have strong anti-bacterial,anti-oxidation,anti-inflammatory,liver protection,hemostasis,detoxification and other effects.However,most of the studies on the pharmacological activities of the S.chusanum have remained at the level of crude extracts,and there have been few studies on their effective components.Therefore,the research on the chemical composition and biological activity of the S.chusanum was carried out in this paper.This has a scientific significance for in-depth understanding of the medicinal value and development of the S.chusanum.The results of this study are as follows:1.Extraction and separation of chemical constituents from the S.chusanumIn this study,the chemical constituents of the fern were extracted and separated by using different packing columns,MPLC,HSCCC and other methods.A total of 18 compounds were obtained from 32 isolated components,and 15 compounds were identified.They are vanillic acid,protocatechualdehyde,apigenin,syringic acid,p-hydroxybenzoic acid,esculetin,caffeic acid,4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid,vanillin,protocatechuic acid,?-sitosterol.,caffeic acid ethyl ester,2'-(3',4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,3-benzodioxole-5-aldehyde,gentisic acid and orientin.Among them,caffeic acid,4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid,vanillin,2-Acrylic acid,3-(1-3-benzitol-5-yl)-methyl ester,caffeic acid ethyl ester and2'-(3',4-dihydroxyphenyl)-1,3-benzodioxole-5-aldehyde were first isolated from the S.chusanum.This provides new results for the study of the chemical composition of S.chusanum,and providing a new basis for its medicinal development.2.Study on biological activity of different components of S.chusanumIn order to elucidate the biological activities of different components of the S.chusanum,the crude extract components and monomer components were selected in this study to research the biological activities of the components of the S.chusanum.Among them,esculetin and vanillic acid have good antioxidant activity,and the effect is better than positive drug VC.Apigenin has better anti-tyrosinase activity and theeffect is significantly better than the positive drug arbutin,while apigenin also has a good anti-tumor activity(human lung cancer cell A549)and the effect is close to the positive drug cisplatin.Ethyl caffeate has better anti-UV activity and antibacterial activity.It can be seen that the activity of the monomeric compounds is generally better than that of the crude extracts.All these provide a new basis for the medicinal value of the S.chusanum.In conclusion,the chemical composition of the S.chusanum is rich,the pharmacological activity is more extensive,and each different component bears different medicinal activity.This research provides a theoretical basis for the research on the active ingredients and the development of medicinal use of the S.chusanum in the future.
