| Objective:This study is to figure out the effect of electroacupuncture(EA)in stroke patients with wrist dorsiflexion dysfunction, and to explore its related mechanisms based on electromyographic biofeedback.Method:60 stroke patients with wrist dorsiflexion dysfunction were randomized to receive usual care(control group)or usual care and EA(EA group)to Waiguan point(SJ5)and Shousanli point(LI 10)for.4 weeks.Patients in both group were assessed with iEMG,irritation threshold,ROM,FMA and MBI,which will be examined before and after the intervention. The data collected from the assessments is analyzed with SPSS 19.0 and the different therapeutic effects of each treatment would be valued. Results:In the trial,3 patients were lost,1 in EA group and 2 in control group. And l patient were eliminated.1.After the treatment, remarkable improvements were observed in both EA group and control group, regarding iEMG.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).It could be observed that EA group had better outcomes than control group’s(P<0.01),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention.2.After the treatment, remarkable improvements were observed in both EA group and control group, regarding irritation threshold. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).It could be observed that EA group had better outcomes than control group’s(P<0.01),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention.3.After the treatment, remarkable improvements were observed in both EA group and control group, regarding ROM.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).It could be observed that EA group had better outcomes than control group’s(P<0.01),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention.4.After the treatment, remarkable improvements were observed in both EA group and control group, regarding FMA.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).It could be observed that EA group had better outcomes than control group’s(P<0.01),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention.5.After the treatment, remarkable improvements were observed in both EA group and control group, regarding MBI.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).It could be observed that EA group had better outcomes than control group’s(P<0.01),by comparing the parameters of both groups after intervention.Conclusion:1.According to the assessment results of iEMG,irritation threshold before and after treatment, the wrist dorsiflexion function in EA group was vitally improved among stroke patients.2.According to the assessment results of ROM,FMA and MBI before and after treatment, the wrist dorsiflexion function in EA group was impressively improved among stroke patients.3.The treatment of EA group was more effective and valuable for clinical practice. |
