Objective: To evaluate the early effect of using non-absorbable sutures to repair medial collateral ligament(MCL)injuries occurred during total knee arthroplasty(TKA).Methods From January 2015 to October 2016,5 patients 'MCL was jnjured during the TKA process, and the jnjured MCLs were repaired with non-absorbable sutures(injury group).Another 10 patients who had accepted TKA during this same period without MCL injury were observed as control. The clinical data of two groups were retrospectively reviewed and compared. Results The KSS pain and function scores were 84.6±5.6?81.0±2.2 for the five MCL injured patients compared with89.8±3.7?90.0±4.1 for the patients without MCL injury. Conclusion The MCL injuries could be repaired with non-absorbable sutures during TKA and the early postoperative results are acceptable.
