ObjectiveTo explore the epidemiological distribution of Brucellosis both in population and animals in Pingliang City from 2013 to 2017,to master epidemiological characteristics, and to analyze related factors of Brucellosis infection in population, cattle and sheep,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of Brucellosis in Pingliang City.MethodsThe data of Brucellosis infectious cases from 2013 to 2017 both in population and animals were collected from the infectious disease report information system of Pingliang and the Animal Disease Information System of Pingliang Veterinary Bureau. The information of cattle and sheep stock and the population was obtained from the Statistics Bureau.SPSS 24.0 software was used for analysis.chi-square test was used to conduct hypothesis testing, and the test level was 0.05.Results1.Epidemic Characteristics of Human BrucellosisThe incidence of Brucellosis in Pingliang City increased year by year from 2013 to 2017.In2015,it was the peak period of the disease, and then gradually decreased. The highest incidence rate in Chongxin County, and the lowest in Jingning County. The peak incidence was mainly from May to September, accounting for 62.9%of the total cases. However, the proportions of each of the 2013-2017 peak periods were statistically different(?~2=102.694,P<0.001).The incidence rate in males was 11.63/100,000,and the female incidence rate was 4.52 per100,000,there were obvious gender differences(?~2=171.519,P<0.001).Most of Brucellosis cases in Pingliang City happen in 40-60 years old.As for occupational distribution, farmers accounted for 73.0%of the total cases, followed by slaughter households, fur workers and veterinarians, etc.who accounted for 19.26%,and others who accounted for 7.74%.The infection rate of the Hui nationality was significantly higher than that of the Han nationality(the incidence of the Hui nationality was 178.27 per 100,000 and that of the Han nationality 34.73 per 100,000).The ethnic composition of Brucellosis cases among different counties was statistically different(?~2=378.719,P<0.001).2.Epidemic Characteristics of Brucellosis cases in Cattle and SheepFrom 2013 to 2017,the highest Brucellosis incidence in cattle and sheep in Pingliang City happened in 2015,which was 7.44/100,000 and 958.76/100,000 respectively. There was a statistically significant difference in the Brucellosis incidence of cattle and sheep in different years(?~2=97.607,P<0.001),(?~2=2737.982,P<0.001).In regional distribution, the highest incidence of Brucellosis in sheep was 937.04/100,000 in Huating County, and the highest incidence of Brucellosis in cattle was 6.54/100,000 in the Kongtong District. The lowest incidence of Brucellosis was in Zhuanglang County,no Brucellosis cases were found. The incidence rates of Brucellosis in cattle and sheep in different counties were significant different(?~2=66.950,P<0.001,?~2=1173.791,P<0.001).Conclusions1.Incidence of Brucellosis infection(including humans, cattle and sheep)in Pingliang City increases year by year from 2013 to 2015,and then showed a declining trend. This indicates that since the outbreak of the Brucellosis prevalence in 2015,relevant departments in Pingliang City adopted corresponding effective interventions.2.The infection rate and prevalence of Brucellosis in male population is higher than that of women in Pingliang City.Brucellosis is generally susceptible to all age groups. Most of Brucellosis cases in Pingliang City happen in 40-60 years old, among which the number of cases in the 61-70years old increased, and the proportion of 61-70 years old is also high, which should be focused on.The morbidity of aquaculture occupational group is obviously higher than that of other people, and it is suggested that protective measures should be taken when contacting with animals. The infection rate of Hui people in Pingliang City is significantly higher than that of the Han people. The factors may be related to ethnic beliefs, eating habits, and Hui people’s occupation of breeding and slaughtering-related occupations.3.The incidence of disease in human, cattle and sheep in different counties is related to the local mainstay industry. The incidence rates of zhuanglang and jingning counties where agriculture is the main pillar industry are lower than that of other counties where livestock husbandry becomes a supporting industry.4.The distributions of Brucellosis in cattle and sheep is basically in line with the distributions of Brucellosis in humans. However, there are some differences due to differences in cattle and sheep population bases, delayed livestock quarantine, and weak awareness of prevention and control of Brucellosis.
